TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! CELEBRATE TENSE JACKSON COUNTY MIKE SANDERS POLITICAL HOT MESS WAITING GAME!!!

Over the past week, most political denizens have been waiting for a disaster in Jackson County.
Remember that our blog community was FIRST to report the tragic death of the Jackson County Exec's father which seems to set the stage for a great deal of cataclysmic change that has impacted 12th & Oak.
Not too long after . . .
Once again, KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS were FIRST to note the appointment of an acting Jackson County Executive when other media were content to let this transition of power remain silent.
And while local media is remains content to keep this topic buried and away from leading headlines, our blog community reminds readers that there's little charter support for the Mike Sanders' team claim that that the appointment of an acting JaxCo Exec is merely a technicality and not something far more serious. It seems that the only thing more flimsy than the rules governing the courthouse are the elected officials sworn to protect them. Like it or not, the Charter ratified in 2010 is hanging by a thread because local elected officials either don't know or don't care about the rules . . . In much the same way that nobody really mentions that Mayor Sly rarely pays his taxes on time over the past few years and after our blog community told Kansas City about it FIRST.
Accordingly . . .
RIGHT NOW POLITICOS ACROSS MISSOURI ARE PATIENTLY WAITING TO SEE THE HOT MESS AWAITING MIKE SANDERS ON MONDAY AND BEYOND!!!
Here's the sitch:
- Nobody buys the "mourning" period in much the same way that Mr. Sanders said that he wanted to be with his family when competition for so many political jobs heated up but then he went touring Missouri as a Democratic Party honcho.
- The political sharks are circling . . . Legislators Tarwater and Williams have made very clear overtures behind the scenes that they intend to go after the County Exec seat sooner or later.
- Common knowledge . . . The newspaper is keeping this quiet but just about every county worker Downtown is scared because the Feds are still asking a lot of questions in and around the building. The Pitch wrote extensively about the investigation (weeks after everybody else) but buried in the 2k word missive was the fact that it seems to be ongoing.
Here's the kicker . . .
TKC SPECIAL FOR SUNDAY: MIKE SANDERS REPS ARE PLAYING TO SYMPATHIES ABOUT THE PASSING OF THE POLITICO'S FATHER IN ORDER TO GARNER SYMPATHY AND SUPPORT!!!
From this vantage . . . The desperation of personal pleas and guilt tripping is a very real sign that something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
This blog is for adults, a lot of this blog is about politics. NONE of this is personal. It's an old school Kansas City trick to make politics and government affairs about "nice guy" or "pleasant lady" perceptions. These social niceties are constantly employed to win contracts & cash and newsies fall for them because it beats having ask uncomfortable questions . . .
We're absolutely certain Mike Sanders is a great, nice, caring, and wonderful person . . . Nobody cares.
What's more important is the responsibility of a public official who has been consistency secretive, double talking and shady in his capacity as a legislator.
Mike Sanders never lived up to being a so-called reformer.
Now the County confronts a controversy over a screwed up jail system, ongoing questions about sketchy contracts, outcry over continued property tax screw-ups and continual infighting among the Exec's political lieutenants and his bloated staff over their influence.
IF Mike Sanders returns to his job Monday . . . He's walking back into a great deal of trouble.
No matter what, our blog community is the FIRST AND ONLY Kansas City news source to report the many challenges confronting this embattled politico.
Developing . . .
Very cruel TKC, you're trying to make Cathy Jolly work on a Sunday.
ReplyDeleteIt's not going to happen my friend.
Sanders is wiley, don't bet against him. He could come out of this whole thing as the next Governor of Missouri.
ReplyDeleteThe charter is just a piece of paper TKC. Don't treat it like it's some kind of sacred document.
ReplyDeleteWhat about that one guy who cited the rules that allowed an interim county exec but they turned out to be a zoning ordinance? It seems like Mike doesn't have any allies who aren't also on his direct payroll. That's a real shame. Even he deserves better.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Tony and if people don't take me seriously, I will continue to pull stuff out of my ass in an effort to make a mountain over a molehill.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the term TOY TRAIN the funniest thing you have ever heard?
Is my tin foil hat on evenly?
Tony you are being a drama queen again.
ReplyDeleteAt worst Mike will apologize for making the appointment and we all move on. Case closed!
As for his extended leave my bet is that Sanders, being an attorney, was the executor of his fathers estate and therefore had estate issues, property to inventory and beneficiaries to satisfy. I doubt you can do that in less than several days and sometimes longer. Case Closed.
I am not a Sanders fan, but no one has seen him at the airport so it doesn't look like he ran away.
^^^^^^^Thoughtful, measured, knowledge based comment.
ReplyDeleteYou will get "crickets" from Tony.
Ebola soon, Tony?
Your commentary about "the blog community" simply does not square with the comments.
ReplyDeleteLying will cost you in the long run.
Sanders is falling so fast he is not even aware. The Courthouse is a powder keg ready to go off. Time will tell which legislator will take the lead and make him accountable, the Executive seat is up for grabs will we see who gets it.
ReplyDeleteInvestigations, blue ribbon committees, all things that help destroy a politician.
ReplyDeleteRun Mike Run
ReplyDeleteBlarney! It will be chaos as usual within a week of Sander's return. Same old shit, different day.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure all the niggers Tony's well-connected with at the courthouse will be stunned when Sanders shows up for work tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of us? Not so much.
This blog is for adults, who've extended the self-absorption of late adolescence into middle age.
ReplyDeleteSo how's the blog doing. Have you monetized the love yet?
ReplyDeleteTKC needs a facelift. Tired phrases like "Hot mess" "keeps winning", keeps losing", "Breaking and exclusive", and the same file photos.... yawn. I cant get past em.
ReplyDeleteNothin fresh here.
Speaking of facelifts, what is wrong with Dave Helling? Saw him on tv yesterday and he looks terrible. Overweight, terrible beard emphasized his fatness, and the circles under his eyes were awful--don't they wear makeup on tv? He needs a check up and appointments at a gym every day. He's looking like an impending heart attack.
ReplyDeleteSLY STOLE SKIPPY TO PAY FOR THE TOY TRAAAAAIIIIIIIINNNNNNNN!
ReplyDeleteIronically, it was the silent killer toy choo choo that probably killed Sanders Dad, either because he was a business, or because he was a bicycle rider, or because he was an innocent child playing in the yard Sherry DeJanes stole from the citizens of Kansas City.
SMARTKC haz the deetz!
The only waiting game is waiting to see Tony and his 'tipsters' (anydy else notice that the only 'inside info' Tony ever has is rumors about Jackson County government?) proved wrong again...
ReplyDeleteMr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteSoooo.... What about those real estate transactions and lowered property taxes for dear friends and supporters?
And Combat!
Mike's friends are really quiet. That tells me something is up.
ReplyDeletePTO-Paid Time Off
ReplyDeleteThe Pitch wrote extensively about the investigation (weeks after everybody else)
ReplyDeleteThat's because Steve actually does hard research and fact digging instead of writing from gutter mind and knee jerk instincts.
Tony was also the very first blogger in the world.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any opinion on this story. But to say 418 is right about Steve vockrodt. He really is the best journalist in Kansas city. He is better than the pitch. I don't know how he hasn't been plucked away to bigger and better things yet.
ReplyDelete4:27 - Agreed
ReplyDeleteTragic:
ReplyDeletecausing or characterized by extreme distress or sorrow.
"the shooting was a tragic accident"
synonyms: disastrous, calamitous, catastrophic, cataclysmic, devastating, terrible, dreadful, awful, appalling, dismal, horrendous;
Does the passing of a loved one from illness warrant the "tragic" tag ?
Makes you wonder what the back story is. Skippy's dad passing and taking off a week to grieve would not warrant all this attention. When disrespecting the death of a parent for a few hits....sorry. That's cheap. Wonder how Mr. Botello would feel if KCC posted a like piece upon the death of one of his parents ? All this imaginary controversy. Much like the "imaginary stalker". Nah. I'm calling BULLSHIT.
^^^^^^^
ReplyDeleteNobody gives a shit about your site wildman. Stop spamming. As for Sanders, he's a crook like the rest of them. What's the harm in saying it?
^^^^^^^^^ fucking idiot
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with @ 5:53. Seems 5:55 shows up making accusations every time someone questions a posting. I agree with 5:53, no fan of Sanders but attacking someone mourning the death of a family member is classless. Go ahead and accuse me of being a spammer. I could care less.
ReplyDelete"Classless" - Pffft. The only people who use that word are politicians who get beat.
ReplyDeleteThis ain't a beauty pageant. Sanders is toast and everybody knows it.
Good riddance.
I'm not attack Sanders for mourning. I'm attacking him for being a shit politician, screwing up my taxes, giving away sweetheart contracts and in general being a worthless sack of poo. He should resign like a man instead of dancing around like a homo.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^
ReplyDeleteShut your face, you hack. You've done your share of dirty work too. I guarantee that Mike has twice as many friends as you and you haven't done half as much as him.
Mybe he got the EBOLA!!!!!!!! Tony's kick ass tipster were warning us about, or maybe the housing/real estate/debt/ bubble that's been "about to burst" for 10 years according to Tony's kick azzz internet economists finallly burst and killed him. Maybe the killer toy chooch did him in? Or the MASSIVE FLOODING after TOTES NORMAL RAINFALL BECUZ OLD AND BUSTED SEWERS TOY TRAIN got him! Gosh, it could be almost any of the doomsday hysterics this blog traffics in...
ReplyDeleteSo, you're saying that you've been reading this blog and you're still unsatisfied after 5 years? I guess you'll have to read for another 5 every day and on Sunday night until you find something you like?
ReplyDeleteYou should probably just call yourself a fan.
To be expected...... CRICKETS on Skippy today. Nothing. Nada.
ReplyDeleteOnce again Botello is full of shit.
Hi, The resource that you mentioned here is something that I have been looking from quite a time. And finally it ended with such a nice blog post. I like your articles.
ReplyDeleteThank You
