Anne McGregor of the Mayor Funky Recall Movement is running for the 4th District at large City Council seat against Beth Gottstein . . . Lynn Horsely reported on the paperwork today.

And just last week we were looking at how the race is going to shape up.
I guess you could call what they do at The Star "news" but it's more like corporate content claiming to dictate facts in Kansas City.
I guess I'm with Beth. She's the bat shit crazy that we know as opposed to this elderly, strange lady who thinks she wants to do something.

Beth needs to put down the cell phone during votes. I know she is taking instructions from someone. and MacGregor is just not ready to be a council member. She has not been inside city hall except to drop off bogus petitions.

ReplyDeleteWho HASN'T been announced as a mayoral contender on this blog? If the Star was like TKC, they'd have reported that Chief Corwin was running already, even though he's never confirmed it. But...they can't...unless it's official...and until then, it doesn't take much talent to talk out of your ass...

ReplyDeleteDuring the recall a whole bunch of people were saying that you were using the effort to promote yourself. You were named the "Big Kahuna" by Harris Wilder, and only Harris Wilder thought of you as the "leader of the ad hoc funkhouser recall. You thought you had a chance at an "Obama" appointment. That didn't pan out. So you thought the press would highlight you and push you forward in the eyes of Jay Nixon for an Energy Commission seat... that didn't work. This has disaster writ large.
I do not think Anne McGregor is foolish nor devious to promote herself as the "leader of the recall" effort. A quick search of the media files would show that to be untrue. The media outlets in this town go for the easy label. Not McGregor's fault that this is what the Star highlghted. She would not lie to Kansas City, would she?

ReplyDelete1. She never sticks to her convictions. She makes a bold stance and then when she is challenged she runs away.
2. She has sold out the people who got her where she is. She made a lot of promises in westport but then really stuck it to us with the smoking ordinance.
3. You must not know her personally because she behaves erratically and has yelled at almost every friend out and sworn to destory them. She then begs for forgiveness.
4. She has not bee accessible lately. I don't know if she still talks to Tony but even he has reported that she's away with her boyfriend most of the time. I know the council is supposed to be a part time job but most of us know that as public servents we are on call 24 hours a day.
5. She has backed down against Funkhouser and his wife. All of the 4th hates him and now it seems that Beth no longer has the will to fight for the rights of her constitents against Funk and Jeff Roe and it seems that she is even trying to align herself to him.
We just don't know what Beth believes anymore. She was once an advocate and now she seems more like a disinterested politican.
