Jackson County Legislature Removes Embattled Abarca As Chair

Follow-up on a power play we've been talking about for most of the week and something that insiders knew was coming . . .

JACKSON COUNTY COUP: UNANIMOUS VOTE REMOVES CHAIR MANNY ABARCA!!! 

Context as objectively as possible . . . 

Last week the drama seemed to start with beef with the Sheriff . . . Which continued today. 

Today, KCTV5 put more talk of the federal involvement on blast . . .

Then Chair Abarca made allegations of bribery . . . After that . . . There was even follow-up and a name drop. 

The follow-up was an FB post from Abarca and talk about investigation from the feds.  

Today . . .

On the motion to remove, Legislator Sean Smith simply said . . .  "I think there has been general dysfunction in this body and it would benefit us to have a new chair." 

Mr. Abarca noted an ongoing investigation and the benefit of a full inquiry. 

The Legislature voted in Donna Peyton to replace Mr. Abarca amid a few nominations that were declined.
