"Jackson County’s Legislative Chairman said he was offered a bribe to support a housing project. FOX4 obtained an email Manny Abarca sent to Sheriff Darryl Forté Wednesday night.

"The Jackson County, Missouri, Legislature met behind closed doors for about an hour and a half Friday morning. Abarca’s email to Forté raised questions about the longtime aide to former County Executive Mike Sanders and current Legislator DaRon McGee.

"The email claims that Calvin Williford, a legislative analyst for the county, offered Abarca a political contribution between $10,000 and $50,000 in return for support on a housing project involving a company called “Champion,” according to the legislator."
