An extensive social media message offer some background on his announcement this week that has created a stir throughout the local political world . . .

"The last time I talked to the FBI was about actions of the former Executive and staff, they asked me then about coordinated efforts by union leaders to pick the next County Executive and said they had a source “within” that identified me as part of a discussion that I wasn’t. Politics is ugly, and all I wanted to do is make things better, hold folks accountable if they didn’t best represent the people and fight for progressive ideals. Everything else is for the birds. "
