TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! TRAGIC JOHNSON COUNTY SUICIDE TREND HITS SHAWNEE MISSION NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL!!!
Unfortunately, the new hotness in Johnson County among youngsters is suicide.
To wit . . .
KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS OFFER THE FIRST REPORT OF SUICIDE TRENDING AMONG SM NORTHWEST STUDENTS!!!
Notes from students orgs and letters to parents are starting to leak throughout social media . . . Some very contentiousness TKC readers want to stress parent & teacher support along with an upcoming vigil to help alleviate the recent distress.
Here's the KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER roundup as local news preps to put this on blast tonight:
Unreported Suicides, 2 students SM Northwest, And 3rd Attempt: Bullying Victim Left A Note
Steven ______, a freshman male at SM Northwest was bullied.
Two days ago, he went to SM Park (half in Shawnee, half in Lenexa, so not sure which PD found him)
He attempted suicide---with a gun, first effort he was nervous and bullet just grazed his cheek But 2nd bullet, to his throat, proved fatal. He was dead when he was found in the park.
He died at Shawnee Mission Park (owned by Johnson county.)
The bullied young man had left a suicide note with someone before he went to the park, NAMING NAMES of fellow students who bullied him.
One bully, (allegedly)-- was a girl.
She learned of the note, and that she was named. On Tues. Jan 23 she then attempted suicide. By jumping off a building. She lingered and died this morning, Wed. Jan. 24. Not sure which hospital.
A third student, male, ran into traffic attempting to commit suicide --later on Tuesday Jan 23.
SM School District had SM Northwest HS send an email to all parents informing them of this.
The school was on lockdown all day today (Jan. 24).
Midday today, a 4th student, slit their wrists in the bathroom at school--and was removed by county EMS staff ON A STRETCHER from Shawnee Mission Northwest HS.
None of this has been reported on any major news outlet as of 2:55pm
#############
Now . . .
JoCo insiders believe this is a series of tragedies UNCONNECTED to a recent Overland Park teen who seemingly committed suicide by cop.
Nevertheless, as we start 2018 - The reality is that suicide is trending among teens in Golden Ghetto Johnson County.
Update - Here's a confirmation of the double suicide trend and more resources AFTER TKC FIRST NEWS.
Developing . . .
Really sad. Kind of shows the desperation going on in the suburbs right now.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be more helpful to post resources for suicide prevention. Hopefully these young people know that this is not an answer to their problems.
DeleteI blame Netflix.
DeleteNetflix really? Okay they were a book first if your taking about 13 reasons why.... And people have been committing suicide for years because of bullying!
DeleteVery sad. Just a matter of time until some d-bag gets on here and blames Trump for all of this drama.
ReplyDeleteThoughts & prayers go out to students and their families.
Sure didn't have these issues when I was in school. Didn't have all this transgender homosexual crap either. Didn't have playmates in grade school thinking they were the opposite sex either or could choose which bathroom they wanted to use.
ReplyDeleteInstead of looking at the kids how about looking at the parents which is where all the problem comes from.
I blame social media and postmodern leftists and consumerism and trend of terrible parenting and CNN (of course!).
ReplyDeleteThis is all Mike Pence's fault.
ReplyDelete^^^ +1
ReplyDeleteDidn't we learn this in the 1980s -- put YOUR ENTIRE FACE in front of the gun nozzle.
ReplyDeleteAlso, do not run out into traffic if you want to die. Don't hurt someone else in the promise. #nodecencyanymore
ANyone remember that dude back in the 80s, i think he went to Northwest, he blew himself up on purpose as a suicide.
ReplyDeleteThat moronic "Anonymous"'s comment about your face should be deleted immediately. It serves absolutely nothing positive.
ReplyDeleteDid Spock agree with you?
DeleteI notice these vigils don't get the same hate from disgusting TKC comments. What makes their grief any better?
ReplyDeleteI blame Schumer and the Democrats for that wall that will never be built and because Mexicans never pay for anything! Harrumph!
ReplyDeleteThe put your entire face in front of the gun is an old Denis Leary joke.
ReplyDeleteThe school told KCTV5 the two suicides were unrelated. I don't believe that. The school is all, "nothing to see here folks, it didn't happen on school property..."
ReplyDeleteHowever, the bullying that led the first student, Steven, DID happen on school property.
And, the school failed to confirm or admit to the reporter that a 4th suicide attempt by one of their students,in 40 hours, DID happen this afternoon, in the school bathroom--when the 4th student slit his or her wrists.
Attempts 3 and 4 were not successful. So we had suicide by gun, suicide by jumping off a building, attempted suicide by running into traffic, and attempted suicide by slitting of wrists.
And then at 3:15, there were 4 or 5 gunshots heard in Northwest Woods, six blocks away. No word yet on if this was Attempt #5.
This is a coverup by SM School District. (The school district now defended by the law firm that just hired the cheating former SM superintendent, Jim Hinson. The superintendent who used that law firm to defend himself from legal challenges--to the tune of $469,000 in legal fees the year before Hinson "resigned" to go to work for his lawyers.
Coming soon: the creepy taunting daring game played at SM Northwest, like the old game of musical chairs--Who's Got the Noose...where the boys made a noose, and sent it home each night with another student.
As documented on Snapchat.
You are a horrible person
DeleteI think it would be helpful if lies like this wouldn’t be on the internet
ReplyDeleteREALLY?
ReplyDeletePlease do NOT post anything that is not credible and or reliable. This is dumb, and half of this is spouting nonsense. PLEASE get the right credible sources before you make a post that could affect peoples lives.
This is why social media is poison, social media can kill other people with the wrong information.
Seriously, THINK before you post
Guess thoughts and prayers aren't reducing the suicide rate.
ReplyDeletethis is absolute bull. especially the comments. You idiotic people dont know what happened. this is messed up.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad but who gave you the right to put this out? This is very sad for the school and your not making this any better so just stop before something happens to you.
ReplyDeleteIf this is the truth, why should it be hidden?
DeleteThis kind of thing would never happen in KCMO schools.
ReplyDeleteShut the fuck up
DeletePersonally as a Shawnee Mission Northwest Student I find this article repulsive you are trying to gain publicity for yourself by posting about something you clearly know nothing about. Next time before you post something I would check the facts of your story. The only truth to this article is that what has happened to the Cougar Family is a tragedy. This article needs to be taken down.
ReplyDeleteProbably shouldn't have named the family out of respect for privacy.
DeleteThat is what SMNW is called... the Cougar Family
DeleteThis is untrue information. This information is not correct. I ask you to please either take this down or change it to the facts. SMNW is grieving right now. The suicides were not related. The truth is nobody really knows a lot of information yet. But this article spreads false rumors.
ReplyDeleteCh. 41 just quoted Lisa Gruman, the principal of SM Northwest, from her letter to parents. Where did she come up with the copy? From a Hallmark sympathy card???
ReplyDelete:
"This time of the year is generally a stressful time for students. The holidays are over, and the real work of the semester is getting underway. The winter is stretching out before them..."
Dear Principal Gruman--this is poppycock.
I doubt you are a licensed clinical therapist.
And I doubt you've had time to fully investigate the cause of the epidemic you are embroiled in and covering up.
Your remarks provide NO comfort or guidance to parents, who are scared to even send their loved ones back to your superficial la la land supervision.
So let's not pawn FOUR suicide attempts in 40 hours by your students as a simple Dr. Laura case of SAD/Seasonal Affective Disorder.
This is a case of documented bullying--at your school.
The first student, Steven, LEFT A LIST!
Investigate THAT!
The first student was a freshman.
There is not really much "real work of the semester"--it's not like these 9th grader kids were taking their SAT's to get into Harvard.
The severe cold front had abated, the weather was almost balmy, and we have not even had to shovel snow.
So it's not some case of Stephen King//Whiteout Cabin Fever.
It was the result of unaddressed BULLYING ON YOUR WATCH, Principal Gruman.
Investigate that.
Blaming a suicide on "this time of the year" is as lame as girls blaming underperformance on "this time of the month".
Your high school has known issues of BULLYING, including the "Who Has the Noose Game". A form of taunting boys to see if they have the misguided preposterously irrational so called "courage" to hang themself. Investigate that.
Unless it's your "time of the month."
It must be your time of the month, girlie. You are the one hating.
DeleteHave some respect.... Our school just lost not one, but two students.... you'd think people would have a little sympathy... you don't have the slightest idea of how our school is feeling or what we're going through.... and going so far as to making a rumor of the "Who Has the Noose Game"..... you must be pretty stinking old, because the students at our school have no clue what that is?? Tell me Tracy, was that game around when you were in high school? Did you ever wear the noose? :)
Delete6:32, what's the matter, the truth to hard for you to handle? To many of our kids are fucked up from bad parenting. Fucked up from schools not dealing with education and staying the hell out of sexual orientation crap. Bullying? That shit is as old as life itself. We all went through some sort of it in school and in the end it all worked out usually by the kid doing the bullying getting their ass beat by a parent. Schools are to teach kids not raise them. Parents, a bully never attacks a strong kid always a weak whiny kid. Stop making your kids whiny ass brats. Stop trying to be their best friend and raise your kids to be responsible human beings that don't think everything in the world should be handed to them.
ReplyDeleteWow okay first of all this is childish you aren’t doing anything but making it worse none of this has happened way to set an example for the youth considering these kids were all minors putting information out there like that is illegal
ReplyDeleteEveryone stop with the fighting and shit people died and it affected the whole school my teachers and friends burst out crying and it was so hard. I didn't know all of the people but I pray for the entirety of northwest and that the two are in a good place. Nobody is to blame here.
ReplyDeleteYou should be ashamed. You know nothing about the situation so stop giving false information. To Tracy, you obviously didn't even read this so-called "article" correctly. Stop talking about things you don't understand. Do you go to SMNW? I don't think so. Suicide happens often sadly. Bullying happens often. But it's people like you who need to step out into the world and be a kind, loving, empathetic person so that people don't feel alone.

ReplyDelete--if you have facts or information not presented, then share it. And sign your work.
this site does not "take down posts" because of anonymous whining or taunting or accusations--that would violate the First Amendment, sweetie!
Shut the fuck up
Delete6:55 I am 100 percent positive of this was your kid you would have a wayyyyyy different look on this, HAVE SOME FUCKING RESPECT?!!! how about that . its 2018 are you really trying to change peoples perspective?? because it is sure as hell not going to work. This happened yesterday, The kids at NW found out about the second suicide TODAY i mean really you are stooping so low to where you re trying to argue with people who actually know the facts i mean really come on. If you are so right about this why are you staying anonymous?? Are you scared of the truth because it seems like it. truth is.. you wont be able to change anyons perspective and why try to anyway i mean really you are a disgusting asshole. lets leave it at that.
ReplyDeleteTracy is on the money. The school is trying to spin the story. They are more concerned with their image than students lives and dumb-ass students are taking marching orders.
ReplyDeleteSad, sad sad.
But does not make me wants to kill myself. Makes me want to slap my ass.
Go watch Heathers and GTFO!
Come back and talk to us "dumb-ass students" when you've experienced two of your own peers ending your life..... you'd think people would have some sympathy for what our school is going too.... sad, sad sad /:
DeleteTheir own lives*
Delete7:03 I will not give you any information so that you can use this tragedy for publicity. Respect people, simple. That's all. "these anonymous whiners" go to SMNW and know firsthand what has been happenng
ReplyDelete👏If👏you👏don’t👏like👏my👏prices👏then👏you👏dont👏have👏to👏buy!👏Don’t👏be👏nasty👏!!!
ReplyDeleteCan all of you please stop? Please? This isn't a twitter argument. This is people's lives. We need to change things so that this doesn't happen again. It's absolutely devastating. But imagine if the victim's families see this page filled with hate. We need to ESPECIALLY now, lift each other up, not tear each other down. I challenge you to love everyone you see and be a kind soul to anyone in need.
ReplyDeleteYes Ana H, preach. Thank you for being a brave soul at SMNW. From your fellow peer.
ReplyDelete"I ask you to please either take this down or change it to the facts."
ReplyDeletehey you're asking a lot - if he did that with every post there'd be no more website!
good this whole website is bullshit
ReplyDelete^^^^ You just figure that out. That's why everybody reads it. Much more entertaining than the Star or any other fake news it down.
DeleteDon't get worked up over it boyo, the whole world lies. Look at or orange President and tell us the value of the truth.
I'll give you 24 hours to take this down or your whole shitty ass website will be down for however long I want it to be
ReplyDeleteSuck a dick, faggot
DeleteGo for it dude! Get 4Chan on the case. This place will be a memory in no time flat.
DeleteIf this would have been Ruskin High School nobody would have cared like this. What makes SMNW so special?
ReplyDelete7:17 Better grow up quick. Bunch of spoiled brat kids in fantasy land.

The stories are not specific. Exactly what kinds of actions constituted bullying in these cases? I recall that in middle and high school, everybody was conscious of an informal pecking order and were constantly trying to improve their position on that list. Cutting comments, physical jostling were part of a normal day. But nobody whacked themselves or somebody else because of it. Eventually it just became less important to everyone, and we stopped - except for a few head cases who were largely ignored.
ReplyDeleteSympathy to the families and friends of the deceased. Such a shame that young people don’t realize that one day in the not so distant future, high school will be a fleeting memory and things that may seem daunting now won’t even be on the radar anymore. Life gets so much better if you just hang on. In the meantime, there are people and places all around to help you through tough times; don’t hesitate to call on them if needed!
ReplyDeleteall the unreported attempts are true, I have many friends at the school who are terrified and shocked right now. It breaks my heart that so many students are at the point of committing suicide at such a young age.
ReplyDeleteNot true.... we lost two students. That is the only true fact... anything you may or thought you have heard, is false news reports.
Deleteits because you are a bunch of butt hurt little pussies
DeleteWhat would you do and how would you feel if this happened in your community, you insensitive asshole... I feel sorry for people like you.
DeleteI heard everybody at NW killed themselves and then pooped their diapers yeah
ReplyDeleteA lot of the people on here need to be more respectful of what's going on. Get a life and a job.
ReplyDeleteGod bless to the family members of these children . So much weirdness going on in the schools in this day and age . Bullying , online bullying , boys who think that they are girls , girls that think that they are boys , blacks who may feel white , WHITE PEOPLE who think they are something else , sexual orientation questionable bathroom choices , add to that the LIBERAL Democrat teachers that encourages our kids to question anything normal ? Weirdness abounds metrosexual TRANNY BITCHES SHIT heads in administration and management and teachers mindless LIBERAL BITCH thinking morals ABOUNDS !¡!¡
ReplyDeleteVery sad story.

ReplyDeleteNobody needs the thoughts and prayers from 10:26 or the false god you apparently worship.
ReplyDeleteHere's a suggestion for you - don't call the suicide prevention line.
You would not be missed.
Dear 2:28a..There's a chance you're right. ..maybe some of us would not be missed...but if you think when you die. ..and now have no conscious thoughts anymore...how could you know you ever existed in the first place? Your soul is created at the moment of conception...and though you may not be aware of a maker...but he is there...waiting to judge all of us. Those of us praying for the families are also praying for the souls of these children, who clearly were never given a chance to love or fear God, which may be true for you as well. I'm saying a special intention for you 2:28, that you may replace your hate with love and see that somehow God does love you so much, he allowed his Son to die on the cross for your and my sins. ..and everyone's sins. There is hope for all of us. Even though you don't know it, we are praying for you and love you every day. God Bless.
DeleteChecked a lot of the TV news stories. They aren't saying much and that is understandable. The only thing for certain is that two young people are dead and I hope that the rest of the students are getting the message the they are cared about, valued and loved.
ReplyDeleteokay this is really pissing me off. this is an awful, awful thing that happened and almost all of the comments are blaming parents, social media, etc. just stop, stop blaming other people for kids who are hurting. it is a mental illness and these teens are hurting. so stop blaming, and start helping.
ReplyDeletefake news right here
ReplyDeleteThank you for speaking the truth, this needs to happen, however, studies show releasing methods of suicide and details like this can lead to copycat deaths. If you're going to do it to try and bring awareness of this decades old problem can you please include crisis #'s at the start and end of your post?

Lot's of bullshit comments, but Tracy is spot on. While we're pondering the tragedy of the school shooting in Kentucky we should be very aware of how close it could be to these schools. In Kentucky, the kid that was bullied sought vengeance on his tormentors instead of killing himself. In the aftermath he is made into a monster rather than the vic of extreme bullying. Here, the bullied kid committed suicide, though he did call out the bullies in writing. How close those two decisions are: both are taking a life, one is taking more. What if the initial kid went and shot his bullies? Now he would be a monster rather than a vic of suicide? These school systems need to get their heads out of their asses. Bullying MUST be dealt with, swiftly and decisively. None of this PC bullshit, well we can't tell if lil' Jimmy wasn't a willing participant in that beatdown (if he was getting the shit kicked out of him by 4 other kids). Or, well, it's just a harmless childhood prank to shove a kids head into a toilet full of piss. The bullies need significant punishment to reform them. This shit is going to continue to occur at increasing rates until the administrations bring ORDER to their schools. The blood is on their hands.
ReplyDeleteThis is the fakest shit I've even seen. If you want to be a fiction writer go to a 4th grade english class.
ReplyDeleteMs Gruman and the SROs have blood on their hands. My son has been bullied for six months in the halls on school property. When my son had enough, he fought back and Gruman suspended him for three days. When I went to the SRO to file criminal charges, the SRO said my son would be arrested too because he fought back. When I asked who the bully was, Gruman protected the bully and said it was privileged. Gruman won’t do anything with the names. I can attest to some of these posts are not BS, I have first hand knowledge of how Ms. Gruman treats the bullies. Now that the kids had enough, Ms. Gruman does what she does best, takes care of Ms Gruman.
ReplyDelete2:01 Thursday--
ReplyDeletePlease call reporter Betsy Webster at kctv5.com.
Her cell is 913/209-3933.
You may speak to her off camera, but she needs to document that she is speaking with a real parent regarding your experience with Principal Gruman.
We can't stop the bullying until people speak out, at least to a responsible reporter.
My son said there was no list. There are a group of popular kids at SMNW that bully Kids who are perceived to be different. This same group of kids tormented both students who passed away.

ReplyDeleteReally sad story. Have they set up a GoFundMe page?
ReplyDeleteI would like to donate.
This article is absolutely disgusting. Most of the information in this article is A LIE!!!!! HOW DARE YOU WRITE THIS GARBAGE. IT IS DISRESPECTFUL TO OUR COMMUNITY!!!!! HOW DARE YOU MAKE UP DETAILS!!!!!! THIS IS TRULY SHOCKING AND DISGUSTING!
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting out the real story Tony.
ReplyDeleteI am very disappointed with the way that Shawnee Mission Northwest has handled the situation.
Like hell no one is to blame. You want to pretend that but no one believes you.
ReplyDelete
