  1. "FOP officials sent an email to non-members last month telling them they each owe $73 for 2012 legal fees that the FOP incurred to get raises and pension reform for all officers."

    KCPD the shitty police department.

  2. KCPD has turned into a hell hole place to work.

  3. Hope they win. It's time to clean up the department!

  4. The FOP is ruining KCPD.

    ReplyDelete
  5. So much for the "settlement" agreement we were all told would smooth things over.

  6. Hope they lose. Who do they think they are. Having others work for them for there entitlements. Sound like a bunch of welfare cases to me. Go sit on your porch and wait for check. Crying "The FOP sold us out blah blah." It's a few dollars a check you cry babies. Next thing you know they are going to sue for emotional damages and an EBT card.

  7. KCPD needs to be put under city control, they can't even fight crime anymore, they're too busy fighting within the department. Kansas City ha been suffering from a crime wave for years now because KCPD can't do their jobs.

    1. We do our job. You need to contact your county prosecutor and ask why they let them go. It's pretty disturbing.

    2. Local control will do absolutely nothing to reduce crime. No one important has even bothered to claim it will. You're lying to yourself. Wake up.

  8. Too busy fighting within the department than to fight crime. The enemy is from within.

  9. Where does Forte stand? That's what we need to know!

    1. Forte welcomes the drama because it takes the focus off of him and his incompetence.

  10. The crime "waive", statistics show crime is lower than it has been in years. The problem with crime is not a police departments problem. It is societies problem, take responsibility as a city, as an adult, as an individual and then things will get better. To blame the police for crime is the easy way out.

  11. Despite decades of initiatives to stem violent crime, Kansas City residents CONTINUE killing each other at a rate FIVE times higher than the national average.

  12. Entitlements? These are hard working, productive members of the police department, each and everyone one of them puts in a day of work for a day of pay. The FOP has not negotiated anything for its members or non members. They are pushing for city control, which the majority of the members don't want. Their prior law suite cost its members money because the city withheld raises until it was dropped.

Challenge the FOP to prove what exactly they have done for its members or non members.

The FOP is currently having more members quit the FOP than are joining.

  13. You mean a day's work surfing the internet for a day's pay.

  14. FOP negotiated pension reform. So now new officers have to work longer for same benefits. Current officers pay more into pension and retirees get 1/2% less of a raise.

FOP negotiated raises for its members. 1.1% raise (oh boy we broke the bank with that) and are allowing the city to incorporate PD members into their health insurance.

The city and bopc are laughing their asses off at these clowns negotiating skills. Maybe next contact the PD members can pay the city for the pleasure of working here

  16. This group is led by Janet Zimmerman, who is a joke on the police department. These fucking crybabies are going to get their asses handed to them in court and be put through hell for the rest of their careers. RIP

    1. That sounds a lot like union thuggery. Do you people think before you post?

  17. This is just me, but if I worked a government job where my salary was pre-determined and the only thing merit got me was a pat on the back and a shot at a desk job when the right person retired, I'd probably be in the fuckin' union. That's all.

  18. Good point. Kcpd needs an overhaul.

  19. 9:03 you nailed it! Not knowing (at this point anyway) who else is involved in this farce, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess the rest of them are has-beens and never will be's; perpetual whiners who are never satisfied and just haters in general. Let's just hope most people will realize this handful of miscreants are not any kind of true representation of the rest of the KCPD.

  20. How embarrassing for the police department.

  21. Bottom feeders who want to benefit from what organizing and sacrifices made by others has gotten them.

  22. 7:19- My cousin, a former Jackson County Assistant Prosecutor, agrees with you completely.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah and the FOP said that they were going to have the residency issue passed 10years ago! A bunch of Honeybadgers.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Your right 8:36, when the FOP is gone I am sure the City will give you better raises and benefits just because they care about you.

    Dear Fellow Dept Members:
We can all discuss, debate, agree or disagree on whether the FOP is the savior or the bane of the KCPD, but personal attacks on each other, from or toward either side, are just plain childish and unprofessional. That sort of behavior is an embarrassment to us all.

    Dear John Q Citizen:
As a 26 year KCPD Officer, I apologize for the childish remarks that were obviously made by KCPD employees. Unfortunately, like most large organizations, we have a few bad apples. However, during my time on the KCPD I have been proud of the sacrifices and professional behavior I have seen displayed by KCPD employees. The few bad apples are NOT indicative of the vast majority of KCPD employees.

    Thank you.

  26. You have a few bad apples OR is the whole barrel bad?

  27. I'm sure the FOP means well but when the Sgt's that run it are voting themselves over 6% pay raises and letting the topped out officers get a 1.1% increase followed by an extra 1% coming out of their check for retirement. And lets not forget the masterful bargaining that got us a 7% increase in health insurance...that will surely jump to double digits since the FOP agreed to go under the City's insurance. Sounds like a win win for everyone doesn't it. If the FOP gave a shit about anyone on the Police Department they would include everyone in these decisions not just the 14 people that show up to the meeting. Maybe webcast meetings for everyone to see. Or are you too ashamed to show everyone the bullshit your peddling? Prior to the FOP being our bargaining unit, we got regular yearly pay increases to the tune of 2.5 to 4 % for topped out guys and step increases right up until the recession hit. The city took our raise money and held it for ransom for an agreement to join their health insurance, and the FOP with the support of most rank and file guys sued to block it. Now they have settled the suit so the Department will have to go under the city's health insurance that the FOP themselves said would cost us hugely. I think it's about time for a De-certification vote to get these idiots running the FOP out and start over fresh with people who aren't just looking our for themselves. The Sgt's who run the FOP are also, by the way, going to give themselves another huge pay increase in the next 2 years. Wonder what the topped out officers will get...probably another whopping 1.1 %. The FOP honeymoon is over and now the officers are finally seeing what they were warned about years ago. They do not have your best interest at heart they have their best interest at heart. Look out civilians your next.

    1. I really wish I was topped out. Being topped out and getting a 1.1% raise would be awesome. Instead I wait indefinitely for actual raises that never come no matter how many bad people I put in jail or tickets I right. My talent, expertise and professionalism is only rewarded by patting myself on the back and creeping out my partner when I talk to myself and say "good job kid, keep it up, you might get topped out before you retire, and when you retire your pention might still be funded thanks to the efforts of the FOP."

  28. Wbo are you kidding? The majority of department members are benefiting from the work of a few dedicated people who really want to see a positive change. Instead of sitting on your asses and bitching about, oh, pretty much everything, why don't YOU do something? And wbile you're at it, make an effort at getting at least some of your facts right 'cause so far you're batting a big fat ZERO in that area.

  29. You just got a step increase moron. By percentage you got a lot more than 1.1%.
