KANSAS CITY PROGRESSIVES PLEAD WITH COUNCIL DUDE DUNCAN TO CONSIDER RUNNING FOR MAYOR!!!

Thinking about it, we can kinda see Mayor Q pulling this card in support of the council dude who is clandestinely connected to his own family.

However . . . 

We weren't convinced this would make a good story until we started asking questions and this response was sent our way by a local activists . . . Edited for clarity, TKC was SHOCKED by the enthusiasm.

Expanding the Housing Trust Fund: 

Duncan championed an amendment to increase the city's Housing Trust Fund investment from $75 million to $100 million. This effort culminated in August 2026 when Kansas City voters approved a ballot measure that effectively doubled the city's investment in affordable housing.

Advocating for North Lawn Tenants: 

Duncan forced emergency action for residents of the North Lawn Apartment complex by demanding the City Manager oversee immediate repairs or resign. After publicly criticizing the city for treating tenant health with less urgency than billionaire sports stadium deals, his immense pressure resulted in new property management pledging immediate fixes for failing power grids and hazardous sewage issues. 

Pushing Back on Public Funding for Stadiums: Duncan has been highly vocal in opposing a proposed downtown ballpark plan for the Kansas City Royals.
