Kansas City's Hartzell Gray Risks It All For Democratic Socialism

Actually, we'll sure he'll be fine no matter how this week's election turns out given that he has a great personality, so many people who like him, and far, far more friends and fans than TKC. 

Worst comes to worst . . . He'll make a fine living and career in PR or real estate. 

However . . .

For the purposes of political drama and to "raise the stakes" of this primary political slap fight.  We can also look at it this way . . .

PROGRESS FOR DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM IN KANSAS CITY HINGES ON HARTZELL GRAY!!!

At least for this week . . .  

Let's start with context and edification for those who don't know . . . 

Hartzell Gray is a well-known Kansas City media personality, progressive activist, and Democratic candidate running for the U.S. House of Representatives to represent Missouri's 4th Congressional District. Aligning with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), his platform focuses on grassroots movement building and left-wing policy reforms.

Let's not forget . . . 

Hartzell filed a high-profile First Amendment lawsuit against the city of Kansas City and the mayor's former chief of staff regarding alleged work retaliation at KCUR. The case was officially dismissed by a federal judge.

Also . . . 

He served as a former radio host and podcast presenter in the Kansas City area, with previous positions at stations like KCUR, KRBZ, and the KC Morning Show. He works as a local activist, tenant union organizer, and youth mentor across urban Kansas City neighborhoods. 

That's the official line . . . Here's what mainstream media often fails to mention . . . 

- More than any other political candidate in Kansas City, Hartzell has been vocally Anti-Israel and has some of the most controversial socialist talking points on the topic that are probably out of step with most moderate cowtown dems. 

- Hartzell is a loud opponent of subsidy for stadiums and his opposition against the efforts of the Royals had garnered EPIC INSIDER OPPOSITION TO HIS POLITICAL CAREER from 12th & Oak.

- On the bright side for his campaign, better than any other progressive in the KC metro. Hartzell has captured the attention of national Democratic Socialist supporters and his recent online efforts with online superstar Hassan Piker have garnered him national recognition.  

And so we ask . . . 

WIN OR LOSE: HOW WILL KANSAS CITY DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS BUILD ON HARTZELL'S WORK?!? 

Either way . . . Election returns will tell us A LOT about how Kansas City progressives are trending moving forward.
