Fun times . . . This weekend our TKC blog community earned nationwide attention and sparked local panic by ACCURATELY reporting rumors about Salt Lake City offering more to the Royals.
How do we know we were confirmed???
Because the Mayor's office leaned on their pay-for-play fake podcaster and the newspaper in order to spin the story.
Whilst local media is afraid to mention this curmudgeonly cast of bloggy characters, we have not problem talking about credibility . . .
The main question is . . .
HOW MUCH SHOULD KANSAS CITY TRUST BILLIONAIRE ROYALS HONCO JOHN SHERMAN?!?!
Consider . . .
- His campaign team lied about "concrete cancer" the K.
- The Royals have consistently dodged direct newsie questions about their plans.
- The Royals claimed they would negotiate with Jackson County and they HAVE NOT started talking until very recently.
- The team isn't being honest about SLC making a much better offer than KCMO.
In the final analysis . . .
Believe whoever you want . . . But read between the lines and notice that Mr. Sherman didn't reject the idea, he just stressed that he wouldn't do it whilst rumors of his departure from the team are ALREADY circulating.
In fairness, here's the word that was dutifully transcribed by the newspaper.
“Look, we’re not going anywhere, and that’s what we’ve said all along,” Sherman said. “Someone else will have to do that. But I think related to the other comment about wealth and those types of things, I think that’s part of what we’re dealing with in our society. And in our case, we’re looking for a public partner, right, as I said before. We’re working day and night right now to find a way to make sure this team stays here for as long as any of us are going to be around.
“And the public partner is what ties you to a community, right? That’s really why that’s important.”
