Folks who haven't been following this conversation might not know that a great deal of this debate stems from Kansas City, Mo., requiring the use of the 2021 IECC energy code and absolutely DEVASTATING single-family home building . . . For months not a single permit was issued.

"The move comes as the region grapples with a housing affordability crisis, with median home prices reaching $465,000 in Johnson County, Kansas, and just under $440,000 in Platte County, Missouri."
