Country Club Plaza Packed For Lighting Despite Desperate KC Bailout

The backstory that everyone ignores for the holidays . . .

New Plaza owners are demanding about 200 MILLION BUCKS worth of taxpayer subsidy and the new plan is basically a public housing skyscraper scheme.

Nevertheless . . . The economic desperation didn't stop thousands of people packing the iconic entertainment district on Thanksgiving 2025.

Too bad so many vacant storefronts couldn't capitalize on the foot traffic.

Long, long ago we worked for a guy who was obsessed with "myth busting" the numbers that local media put up even if the estimate of crowd in the "millions" was just harmless holiday BS. 

This description and report seems bit less hyperbolic and way more sentimental regarding the enduring legacy of racially restrictive covenants and good old fashioned American elitism exceptionalism.
