Country Club Plaza Demands 200 MILLION BUCKS In Tax Breaks

And so . . . Apparently, local leaders have found the answer for all of those vacant storefronts that make the holidays seem a bit depressing.

WILL EPIC KANSAS CITY TAX BREAKS SOLVE COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA PROBS?!?!

Probably not . . . But . . . 

It's a good way to funnel more cash to developers and secure rights for "affordable" (read: public & Section 8) housing schemes that our Mayor & Council seem to adore.

The Country Club Plaza's ownership wants $210 million in TIF incentives and city funding — plus potential Port KC property tax abatements — to help redevelop the historic shopping center over a 15-year window.
