"Lisa Walker-Yeager, who is on the November ballot for both an at-large seat on the Board of Public Utilities and the District One Wyandotte County Commission seat, is charged with aggravated battery and unlawful use of a weapon . . .

"According to the contractor’s mother, an argument broke out because Walker-Yeager did not want to pay her son the agreed-upon price for a home repair job.

"She said Walker-Yeager ultimately shot him in the back while he was in his pickup truck."
