Shooting Confirms Rising Crime Fear In Kansas City Crossroads

2025 has been rough for the Crossroads.

It's now an opens secret that this neighborhood helped chase the Chiefs & Royals out of town.

One of their main proponents was chased away by noise and mayhem that he said were impacting his mental health.

A longtime biz claimed that downtown & the crossroads was turning into a "hell hole" and his complaints garnered global news coverage.

And now . . .

A horrific shooting in the Crossroads seems to confirm suspicions that "momentum" for the neighborhood is moving in the wrong.

"Kansas City, Missouri, police officers working off-duty heard several gunshots in the area of East 18th and Oak streets.

"They found the shooting victim, and he was taken to a hospital. No arrests have been made."
