Mayor Q Begins Blame Game Whilst Losing Kansas City Chiefs

This evening we present the most loyal denizens of the cowtown discourse with a BILLION DOLLAR game of hot potato.

Kansas City Will Blame Republicans For Losing Chiefs & Royals

Tonight that truism has come to pass by way of a statement from Mayor Q just moments ago.

Context . . .

Missouri Republicans are already on record and have told everyone that they're loathe to raise taxes to pay for sports teams.

 And so .  . .

Here's the X/Twitter quote from Mayor Q and the beginning of the blame game that won't end until sometime around 2032 when Truman Sports Complex is empty.

"I tend not to feed the freak out, but I will note that the Missouri Legislature, which is still in session, can match (or outdo) whatever tools are to be considered in Kansas, particularly sales tax redirection from the stadiums and surrounds (which are in essence STAR bonds).

"I remain unworried about team moves, given the pretty ample tools at issue and ability to outbid for Missouri and Kansas City. That said, as many shared, I do appreciate the clarity the teams have provided that share the now open nature of competition."

Just for us and whoever made it this far into the quote . . .

THIS is how Kansas City turned into Detroit.

Or at least one very big part of the reason.

Developing . . .
