TKC Exclusive: Demolition Contract For Kauffman Stadium Drafted

More than anything our blog community lives to serve the people of Kansas City and we wanted to make one thing perfectly clear to voters on both sides of the aisle of an upcoming Jackson County vote.

Here's today's only reality check for KCMO news . . .

LIKE IT OR NOT, KAUFFMAN STADIUM IS DOOMED AND WILL BE DEMOLISHED!!! THAT'S NOT A THREAT, IT'S A PROMISE!!!

Currently, there is no vote that will save it and no miracle cure for the "concrete cancer" which allegedly inflicts the structure.

THE SAME LOCAL WRECKING COMPANY THAT DEMOLISHED KCI NOW TAKES THE LEAD IN EFFORTS TO SECURE THE CONTRACT TO TEAR DOWN KAUFFMAN!!!

One more time for the cheap seats and just so there's no mistake . . .

A NO VOTE ON QUESTION 1 WILL NOT SAVE THE K!!! THE TEAR DOWN IS ALREADY IN THE PLANNING STAGES!!!

This inconvenient fact has been downplayed by both politicos & pundits but our  www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community believes that this fact of life is essential in understanding how local democracy REALLY works . . . The important decisions don't get a public vote at all.

Don't get it twisted . . . Here at TKC we LOVE GRASSROOTS ACTIVISM but it's unfair to mislead people about what they're voting for . . . 

There's an incorrect supposition that voters can "force" Royals to stay at the K and that's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. The Royals are COMMITTED TO LEAVING THE K and without an MLB team the place is useless and destined for a date with the wrecking ball.

And while it's a fact that Kansas City adores The K and so much local history is connected to the structure that hit the half century mark recently . . . In the end there is no saving the legacy of former glory that stands in the way of the future of the Royals. 

Win or lose the demolition of Kauffman Stadium is already underway.
