KC Tenants Power Spend $123,865 But FAIL To Report Any Donations

In this Kansas City election campaign cycle . . . KC Tenants haven't reported on single penny of donations.

The group talks a good game online about grassroots work, uplifting people and working on housing for the disenfranchised.

To their credit . . . A few days ago after our blog called them out, some of their campaign finance reporting was uploaded to the Missouri Ethics website.

Here's the money line from their latest non-Committee Expenditure report . . .

That's not an insignificant amount of scratch.

However, once again for the cheap seats . . .

KC Tenants haven't reported ANY campaign donations despite MO Ethics deadlines.

Not one penny.

Let that sink in.

The group was touted by the New York Times.

They're on record criticizing other donors in this election cycle.

That's all fair play and part of our KCMO silly season tradition.

In fact, last night we were sent dox filing official complaints with the Missouri Ethics Commission against the upstart group.

Per ushe, there's a temptation to write-off our www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community as partisan or backing one candidate over the next. Again, we haven't endorsed anybody and we're not running for any office.

The point here is one of transparency & blatant hypocrisy.

If KC Tenants Power aren't going to be forthright about their finances . . . Can anyone trust them to play fair if they win elected office???

Again, don't take TKC's word for it . . . Do your own research.

Here's a link to the KC Tenants Power wherein even a casual user can see the dearth of disclosure.

Like it or not, at this point tactics are not fair, equitable or even honorable.

Update . . . Just to clarify . . . We know they're a non-profit 501c4 but it seems kinda hypocritical to go after other candidates and PACs whilst keeping their donations secret and operating just like another Missouri DARK MONEY special interest . . . If they're touting "reform" then they should be better than that . . .

Nevertheless . . .

Unions, lawyers, developers and even corporations are on record with big money donations and those bets on campaigns and candidates come with risk.

What's worse is that no other media outlet is calling them out for their dearth of forthright public disclosures.

Developing . . .
