As election season ramps up . . . Our blog community is obligated to report at trend that we predicted but other local pundits and the chattering class didn't see coming.

The basics . . .

KC TENANTS & TOUGH CAMPAIGN TACTICS UNSETTLE TRADITIONAL LOCAL POLITICOS!!!

Remember that our readers saw this coming when the New York Times picked up the rise of "KC Tenants Power" as political force. 

Then . . . We noticed that their campaign financing has garnered some impressive support in addition to a few curious entries. 

Now . . .

In the home stretch of council races . . . Insiders are talking tactics . . .

"They're vicious. They're really into name calling. Disagree with them and you'll be tagged as transphobic or a racist or a collaborator with slumlords on social media. The language they're using is divisive some of their strongest activists are more than just passionate about their work. They seem fanatical." 

 However . . .

As much as some locals might decry these tactics . . . They only stand out because the public is mostly disengaged from the upcoming vote. 

Nevertheless . . .

We'll have to wait and see if this kind of spirited advocacy proves effective in winning positions in both the 2nd & 6th District where they placed 2nd in the primary but seem to be increasingly aggressive as the primary moves closer.
