Two More Reasons New Kansas City Royals Stadium Will Destroy Westside: Taxes & Zoning

Here's something to consider amid so much "reporting" about the new Downtown Kansas City Royals Stadium . . .

BOTH SPORTS & POLITICAL COVERAGE IN KANSAS CITY IS MOSTLY AN EXERCISE IN SPONSORED CONTENT PROPAGANDA!!!

Over the years we've learned that journalists are mostly powerless against politicos & billionaires.

Our favorite example that's going to seem funny in retrospect . . .

Mayor Q's 2021 quote . . .

"We need a new downtown baseball stadium like I need a new Maserati. It’d be cool to have, but I don’t have the money."

Nowadays he seems to have forgotten his skepticism . . . Here's his latest prediction.

As far as possible locations for a new stadium, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said it could be located adjacent to the 18th and Vine District, the Crossroads area, possibly the east side of downtown and or even the north side of downtown.

One spot with plenty of open land that has been talked about for years as a potential for downtown baseball is Kansas City's East Village.

Once again the Mayor proves he's out of the loop.

We contend that the new stadium will demolish a great many Westside homes. We explained our reasoning clearly but today we share a double take . . .

TAXES . . .

Again . . . We warned locals that tax abatement schemes were a trap

Now . . .

Freebies for low-rent Westside denizens offer a bleak glimpse at even more future of payoffs that will be used to move residents out of the way. Worst case scenario . . . Locals shouldn't forget that eminent domain is always an option that local government has at its disposal.

Secondly . . .

ZONING . . .

A great deal of the Westside is zoned for industrial use and biz like Schutte Lumber are sitting on a goldmine of EPIC real estate that's much more valuable than their old school biz.

Meanwhile . . . East Crossroads and 18th & Vine don't have enough room or highway access for the 2nd biggest development project in local history.

Feel free to debate all of this . . .

But realize that this discussion WAS RIGGED FROM THE START and the only thing we know for certain is that local politicos & developers will continue to deceive the voting public.
