Kansas City Crackdown On Journalists: No Tough Questions For Mayor Q's 2nd Term

Community news brings SCATHING REBUKE OF 12TH & OAK COMMUNICATIONS under Mayor Q's rule.

An old school newsman is gone and the new boss isn't exactly expert in handling requests from journalists. 

We previewed this topic a few weeks ago.

However . . .

The Northeast News Dog explains things PERFECTLY . . .

"Now, Melissa K, who holds a master’s degree in poetry, mind you, and brings zero media experience to the table, is now queen of the City Communications roost, along with the narcissist Platt. The two now act as the all-powerful clearing house for all media inquiries sent to the City, regardless of department. All of this begs the question of what the department PIO’s now do all day given the new paradigm."

Now . . . 

Since this story starts with journalism & reporting . . . There's a temptation to blame the newspaper or social media but that missed the point. 

Fact is . . . The KCMO electorate is largely disengaged and would rather watch garbage quick video joke, sports & hottie content on their phone . . . And THAT is what allows local politicos a great deal of leeway to ignore journalists.
