Oracle Starts Kansas City Layoffs At Cerner Amid Election Day Distraction

To start this morning and with the help of AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS we share news that's far more important than culture war posturing and minor league politicos barking at people about their rights in order to win a few more votes.

Here's real news that our mainstream media colleagues are willfully ignoring . . .

CONFIRM OUR WORK WITH A QUICK SEARCH OF KANSAS CITY SOCIAL MEDIA . . . LOCAL CERNER LAYOFFS ARE NOW UNDERWAY WITH ELECTION WEEK NEWS PROVIDING EXCELLENT COVER FOR THE ECONOMIC MASSACRE!!!

We've read a couple of heartfelt goodbye letters and messages to friends which reveal that the corporate bloodletting is pretty significant.

Overall . . . Like it or not, this is a smart move for the company and should make shareholders proud. The timing is PERFECT and will prevent most scrutiny by the local media.

In fact . . .

The company did the ground work before layoffs and took some time to meet with local politicos in order to offer assurances about "investment" in the metro.

Corporate speak is difficult to understand but maybe they were talking about investing in boxes so that workers can carry away their things more efficiently.

In any event . . .

Now with layoffs underway . . . We can stop wondering "if" and start talking in more practical terms i.e. how much.

In similar takeover circumstances . . . Oracle cuts have been deep.

And again . . .

This is important because Cerner was formerly the biggest private employer in the Kansas City metro and now it seems like ambitions about the next "silicon prairie" have to be scaled yet back again.

Developing . . .
