Missouri Democrats Might Backstab Duplicitous Kansas City Mayor Q

Throughout the course of his political career . . . Mayor Q has been a notorious double-crosser.

At the outset of his meteoric rise, he has turned the tables on anyone who has ever trusted him and even some of the professional protesters who dominate the local discourse have been frustrated by his double dealing.

Locals don't like to remember that the Mayor started out by garnering support from police only to spend three years fighting to "defund" law enforcement and basically talking trash about rank & file cops with a few crumbs of goodwill thrown in to confuse the plebs.

Fun fact . . .

Close followers of cowtown politics know that he pretty much co-opted former Councilman Jermaine Reed's story about homelessness growing up.

We're not saying the Mayor Q didn't have it tough as a youngster . . . Of course he did. But he wasn't "homeless" in the same way that Councilman Reed was forced to brave local streets with his very brave and honorable mother.

But I digress . . .

The point here is that Missouri Democrats don't have much loyalty to Mayor Q.

Now . . . There's a plan to get him out of the picture and get back to the biz of politics rather than costly culture war with the cops.

Accordingly . . .

Our blog community was the FIRST TO BREAK THIS STORY and now its heating up . . .

INSIDERS PLEAD WITH MO STATE SENATOR LAUREN ARTHUR TO CHALLENGE MAYOR Q!!!

Given the current struggle over women's rights, abortion access and horribly misguided  GOP branding . . . This effort is gaining momentum.

For those who don't know . . .

Missouri State Senator Lauren Arthur is a Democratic Party loyalist with deep pockets and more skill and ability to compromise than Mayor Q.

She also have multi-generational resources and access to the local biz community across Missouri.

She's no slouch and she's a candidate who is friendly to the Northland . . . That's important given that Mayor Q and most of the council have pretty much declared political war on our neighbors across the bridge over the past 3 years.

Background on this move . . .

Over the past year insiders have told us that Mayor Q has kneecapped his Missouri Democratic Party allies in Jeff City and his anti-police tactics hasn't given them any room to maneuver.

This is just one of many grudges that progressives have against Mayor Q. In fact, the KCMO honcho is now universally derided for his love of social media stardom, TV news camera and focus on his promising career above all else.

A TKC politically incorrect fun fact . . .

Fundraisers and Missouri Democratic Party leaders are also very interested in flexing against local African-American leadership who have been lackadaisical in supporting candidates who aren't Black.

African-American voters didn't come out for Hillary, they didn't care about Claire McCaskill and allowed Nichole Galloway to get slaughtered despite a blue wave that pushed MAGA candidates out of office.

Elite "progressive" fundraisers seem to argue that sacrificing the career ambitions of Mayor Q might send the right message about "party unity" across racial lines. For better and worse, Democratic Party voting discipline has been discarded by way of so much racially-charged rhetoric which forgets that politics is nothing more than bad theater used to help ambitious people garner more power and move past the infinite void of middle-class life.

Forgive my overly dramatic framing of this debate that is far more concerned with the sordid topic of coin, resources and branding. There's a lot more to come on this topic . . .

But today, on Mother's Day and given a fight ahead over "women's rights" and controversy over bodies of aborted babies . . . The search for a female challenger against Mayor Q ramps up despite the illusion of  Democratic Party unity going into midterms.

Developing . . .
