KANSAS CITY GIVES RUSSIA THE FINGER!?!

Finally, a Kansas City artist takes a bold risk and shares a defiant message about the state of the world.

Accordingly . . . Our perspective . . .

KANSAS CITY HEART TRIBUTE TO UKRAINE GIVES THE FINGER TO RUSSIA!!!

Of course, the beauty of art is in the eye of the beholder. But first, a bit of background on this display for the uninitiated . . .

For those who don't know . . . Liberty Memorial is located at the forefront of downtown Kansas City and offers one of the best views of our skyline.

The location is now a proud participant in the "parade of hearts" which has garnered support and interest from across the Midwest.

Here's background on that project . . .

The parade of hearts is a public arts experience located in the heartland of the United States. From March – the end of May, original artwork based on the kc heart will be placed around the city as an example of unification and to make our communities stronger. Raised funds will go towards those most affected by the events of 2020 and 2021.

Here's a note about the artist's statement from a recent report . . .

"Artist Jeremy Collins, who designed and painted the new heart. “As artists, as musicians, as writers, we all try to figure out, ‘well, if I can’t go out and help in person, what can I do?’ So, I did a small drawing of this heart fist, which is a response to all the atrocities and tragedies for humanity in the world. Now we have this large physical heart that we can pass on to our Ukrainian neighbors.”

The display of municipal beatification project was completed before the outbreak of war in Ukraine but organizers quickly responded to the global crisis.

A statement on the work from Liberty Memorial officials . . .

"We commissioned a 155th heart - titled 'We Are With You' - to show our support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people, both here and abroad."

Even better . . .

One of the BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC READERS shared word of a clandestine message within the artwork and inspired a quick jaunt to grab a photo . . .

"They placed it in front of Liberty Memorial. If you take a picture of it there it looks like the Memorial is the middle finger."

We agree completely.

Moreover, no matter the politics surrounding the tragic topic of European war . . . We appreciate a subversive Kansas City hidden message amid so much blatantly biased mainstream media reporting.

You decide . . .
