Did Pushback Against LGBT Advocacy Help Defeat Independence, MO Mayor Weir?!?

Last night, without much fanfare, there was a bit of foreshadowing for the US midterms in a smallish metro town.

To wit . . .

THE RESOUNDING DEFEAT OF MAYOR WEIR SIGNALS MISSOURI VOTER PUSH BACK AGAINST LGBT CANDIDATES & THEIR ALLIES!!!

Like it or not . . .The message should resonate loud & clear.

Remember, Mayor Weir was an outspoken proponent of LGBT rights and even fought to put the pride flag atop city hall.

Sure, she ran a sloppy campaign but remained front & center on the ballot at the zero hour

The end result of all of her political antics . . .

She lost OVERWHELMINGLY amid concerns about federal investigation and a police overtime controversy

Here's what's even more important . . .

Tonight activists are rallying against Missouri anti-LGBT & anti-trans legislation.

That's great and part of our discourse . . . Also, it's worth considering . . . It's not like Independence, MO isn't a somewhat progressive town. They're a rare Democratic Party stronghold that aligns with the working-class faction of the party. Last night voters in this city made history. For better and worse, the legacy of Harry Truman is very much alive in this part of the metro.

Still . . .

Politicos might want to consider what election returns told us about base level support for politicos who align themselves with progressive causes but FAIL to deliver anything but empty rhetoric.

Developing . . .
