Olathe East Postscript: Court Dox Offer More Deets On Ghost Gun Shooter

The circumstances leading up to a recent school shooting are scary but seem surprisingly familiar.

Moreover . . .

Remember that Kansas City's daily newspaper discounted the heroism of shooting victims and seemingly offered sympathy for the suspected gunman . . .

NOW THAT MORE DEETS HAVE BEEN SHARED WITH THE PUBLIC, THE KANSAS CITY STAR NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE FOR PLAYING DEVIL'S ADVOCATE FOR A SUSPECTED SCHOOL SHOOTER!!!

Objectively, standing up for ghost guns and some young man suspected of going on a rampage isn't professional . . . It's not journalism and our city should expect better from pundits using the power of a local institution and the so-called 4th Estate.

Nevertheless . . .

Here's how the story starts out . . .

According to the document, resource officer Erik Clark said he arrived at the office after he was told that a student with Dr. Kaleb Stoppel, the assistant principal, may have had a pistol in his backpack. When Clark entered the office, Stoppel asked if he could search Elmore's backpack. Jaylon Desean Elmore refused to allow Stoppel to look inside the bag.

Clark told investigators he went to intervene and search the bag when Elmore reached into the pack, pulled out a pistol and started firing at Clark.

Clark told investigators that he drew his pistol and shot at Elmore to defend himself.
