Kansas City 2021 Homicide #149: Deadly Gunfire Monday Morning

After a brief respite the Kansas City homicide count continues to spike as we approach the end of the year. 

Again, unofficially, this is the 149th homicide so far this year compared to 173 at this time last year, 141 the year before that and only 127 in 2018. 

More importantly, according to crime experts who have crunched the numbers . . . Kansas City now stands only 9 murders away from the deadliest month in local history.

Homicide 2000 Block of E. 82nd Terrace

This morning around 12:15 AM officers were dispatched on a shooting in the 2000 block of E. 82nd St. As officers arrived, the location was updated to the 2000 block of E. 82nd Terrace.

Upon arrival officers found evidence of a crime scene outside of a residence.  The victim, an adult male, was transported to the hospital by private conveyance prior to officers arrival. There is no suspect information at this time.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene.
