Kansas City Refuses To Move Deadly Toxic Homeless Camp

This Summer there have been two homicides connected to a homeless camp standing on an urban toxic site but City Hall remains steadfast in their support of this illegal outpost.

Here's the latest . . .

Given a murder this week and concern over the toxic history of this Kansas City camp site, this week Columbus Park neighbors desperately pleaded with 12th & Oak for help. The reply was quick and stern: The city manager's office informed homeowners and they would not disturb the homeless campers and city services like occasional food drop-offs and cleanup would continue despite complaints.

Community feedback sent our way . . .

"Yet again the mayor had decided that he would rather represent the homeless than people who work and invest in the urban core. What's worse is that he's creating a dangerous situation for these vulnerable people. That camp is a death trap not a "safe space" — people shouldn't be living there . . . They deserve something better that doesn't endanger homeowners as well. How does the mayor think he's helping the homeless . . . But putting their health & lives at risk and then attempting to shame residents who point out this contradiction? This isn't leadership, it's negligence."
