Insider: Mayor Q Wastes Parks Board Appointments

For many, a recent move by Mayor Q indicates that he's not really taking his administration seriously.

Here's the word . . .

"The new Parks Board appointees show us that it's amateur hour at 12th & Oak. The Mayor missed a layup and really let a major opportunity pass him by . . . The new team members might play well for the media but Parks Board appointments have a serious function . . . They're supposed to be insiders, people who can do major fundraising OR political allies who can bring more supporters to the Mayor. In this case, none of those qualifications were met . . . A restaurant owner who just emerged last year and a Northland supporter won't help Mayor Q. They might be nice people but a plum position like the Parks Board merits people who have a stronger rep and more influence . . . These two can't do much to help Q win reelection and it's likely we'll never hear from them again."
