Kansas City will continue to support the good life for downtown denizens despite economic hardship and pandemic restrictions that persist for taxpayers on the low-end of the economic scale.
The latest . . .
KC Biz Journal: Cordish sets groundbreaking for $140M Three Light, $25M affordable Midland apartments
Deets . . .
Construction on the next two Kansas City multifamily developments by Cordish Cos. will get underway over the next several months.
The Baltimore-based developer anticipates a May construction start for Three Light, its long-planned $140.3 million urban luxury apartment building northwest of Truman Road and Walnut Street.
However, here's what the update omits . . .
"Among the incentives approved for Three Light is a $17.5 million subsidy the city has agreed to pay for a parking garage for Three Light — as it did for One Light and Two Light."
And so, with penthouses running at about 7 GRAND A MONTH:
KANSAS CITY TAXPAYERS STRUGGLING TO COMEBACK FROM COVID DEVASTATION ARE FORCED TO FINANCE LUXURY LIVING SPACES THEY COULD NEVER AFFORD!!!
Don't get it twisted, we're a fan of capitalism but this kind of horrific deal offers some credibility to claims that modern monetary theory is unsustainable.
You decide . . .
what's a few hundred million between friends?
ReplyDeleteAll the idiots who voted for it thinking it was going to be for improvements to their modest neighborhoods or potholes. LMAO
ReplyDeleteWho the hell would want to live in these? I'm sure they're nice inside . . . but what a pain to put on the Kevlar body armor when you go out.
ReplyDelete^^and yet hundreds do and aren’t a scared old geezer like you are pops. Stay in Frogville under your bed. Weird.
ReplyDeleteStupid. Hundreds? Census workers were chased away, after they were getting no responses.
ReplyDeleteEB-5 project.
I guess it is apropos that a company from the worst, ghetto shithole in the United States of Fascist America is draining the blood from another city on the edge of the abyss. It's looking back at us.
ReplyDeleteUp next - Printing 10 Trillion Dollars and giving it to the bread and circus mob.
Yum, yum, Modern Monetary Theory, I'll have some more gargoyle!
“EB-5 foreign investment is a win on so many levels,” said David S. Cordish, the company’s chairman. “Having wealthy persons move to the U.S., and then create more jobs with new investments, isn’t a good thing. It’s a great thing.”
ReplyDelete"There’s a lot of confusion amongst EB5 stakeholders about how long permanent jobs that are created by EB5 investors need to last....So the key words are “expected to.” Jobs that are expected to last at least two years is what captures the concept...Consistent with prior policy, jobs that are expected to last for at least two years generally are not considered intermittent, temporary, seasonal, or transient in nature. So that language made it exactly into the policy manual." - robert devine "eb-5 hero"
6:43 Is that like 25 million tourists every year? That's a lot of fuckin tourists, wouldn't I see a couple of them if I lived here?

ReplyDeleteRE: KANSAS CITY TAXPAYERS STRUGGLING TO COMEBACK FROM COVID DEVASTATION ARE FORCED TO FINANCE LUXURY LIVING SPACES THEY COULD NEVER AFFORD!!!
ReplyDeleteSend a big THANK YOU to Sly James and Troy Schulte, who even after seeing KCMO get SHAFTED by Cordish on the Power and Light District, continued the pattern of unnecessarily giving away millions in incentives to the same group.
Why did they do that?
Because Cordish has always been willing to kick a few thousand dollars back in campaign contributions, etc., for the millions they receive.
And who use to be Cordish's representative in KCMO? Jon Stephens (former Ruckus guest) who learned to kiss local politician ass so well that they made him head of the Port Authority to steer millions to the favored politically-connected developers.
Almost every big project in KCMO is filled with graft and corruption, e.g., G.O. Bonds, KCI terminal, ToyTrain, convention center hotel, Power and Light District, Cordish Light towers, Burns and McDonnell HQ building, 18th and Vine, downtown baseball stadium, etc.
Because Sly James rakes in the speaker fees.
ReplyDeleteWait, they're actually going through with building a third one? This shit is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteCough it up Kansas City! You are going to pay for it! The earnings tax won't even scratch the surface! Prep for more cutbacks in services!
ReplyDeleteHow much we given Mchomie this year ? While all the small shops close their doors.
ReplyDelete^^ 6:05, you are right. Hundreds do..... Throughout the US we have pushed millies to live in our highest crime rate areas ( par example all crime areas have Loft traps). As the hipsters, millies and upstarts are the only ones dumb enough not to notice the crime rate and that they get murdered at an alarming rate. Lure the young and dumb to the bar scene and watch the darky kill them. Obviously you fit one of those categories of stupid.
ReplyDelete8:07, you nailed it! Please keep posting.
ReplyDelete@3:12AM-You and the rest of the TKC geriatric fucktards aren't paying Mahomes salary you stupid cocksucking slut.
ReplyDeleteHas it ever been announced how many "Lights" there will be? Are we talking marquee here?
ReplyDeleteLet me tell you all something, the Cordish folks are crooks, shady people. Fucking thieves.
ReplyDeleteIts a shame the city has gotten in so deep with these pricks.
Fucking shame-
