KANSAS CITY NORTHEAST NEWS DENOUNCES 'WOKE MOB' AND MAYOR Q WORKING TO OUST KCPD TOP COP!!!

In the aftermath of a decisive E-tax election victory Mayor Q took a bold step and openly joined detractors of Kansas City Police Department Chief Smith.

His brazen social media criticism sparked a wave of backlash and some pretty vile social media commentary that matches the meanest trolls on this blog.

Remember that no so long ago East side leaders admonished the city hall leader for failing to take a side on the tenure of KCPD Chief Smith.

Accordingly . . .

MAYOR Q HAS NOW PUBLICLY ALIGNED HIMSELF WITH ACTIVISTS HOPING TO REPLACE THE KCPD CHIEF AND PUSH FOR LOCAL CONTROL!!!

Moreover . . .

To deny Mayor Q's solidarity with forces collaborating to remove the KCPD Chief would be outright cowardice and yet another departure into the legalese that only serves to make the rising star politico look weak.

The Mayor doesn't have to write a press release or author any more tweets to show the public where he stands: In direct opposition to the current local law enforcement leadership.

At the very least, the mayor's public opposition against the top cop offers a definitive reference for voters and a sign that po-po union organizers were yet again politically incompetent by throwing their support behind a dude who stabbed them in the back less than a year later . . . Supporters of former Council Lady and mayoral contender Jolie Justus claim that AT LEAST she would have been honest in her approach to community policing and probably didn't have the stamina to march in the streets and yell with anti-police protesters.

And so we thank this vital community news resource for making a straightforward argument in their latest issue.

Northeast News: Standing for Law and Order

The premise . . .

Once again The Kansas City Star, the Urban League, and the Kansas City Homeless Union – whatever that is – have called for Kansas City Missouri Police Chief Rick Smith’s head on a pike. Why? Because Chief Smith, unlike former Chief Darryl Forté, has a backbone and can’t be bent to fit the mold of the woke mob.

The latest alleged misstep by Smith was to agree to accept an award at the Jackson County Republican Committee’s Reagan-Lincoln Day Dinner for keeping the city safe last summer during the violent Plaza riots – a well deserved honor in this News Dog’s eyes.

For his decision, Chief Smith was excoriated and Twitter bullied by Kansas City, Mo. Mayor Quinton Lucas, then summarily dragged over the coals by The Star’s Editorial Board, most of whom live in Southern Johnson County . . .

Money line and a hint at larger political forces at play . . .

This is all about the Mayor and his woke gang trying to wrench control of the police department away from the governor-appointed Board of Police Commissioners and put it into the hands of bought off woke locals who are bendable to every whim and wish of the leftist mob.

You decide . . .

  4. I am sure there are some arguments for local control that aren't considered in the Northeast News article.

when our governor is someone like Jay Nixon then the appointees to the city police commission are probably ok

but when our governor is someone like Mke Parson, a demagogue, arrogant small town county sheriff who throws his weight around, who positively is hostile to city folk like us, and always flexes about how superior rural areas are, well, then the idea of local control makes a lot of sense to me.

if we are a republic form of government, then local control makes more sense. if we are ruled by governor appointees, then that is different.

    1. No, because local control assumes local competence, which in Kansas city is frankly hilarious.

  10. Quinton Lucas is RACIST and he has done everything to work against white people. He's trying to turn KC into a black only city so when it's time to vote you had better get him out. Here's the funny part about Lucas. He changed the names of everything to fit the black agenda but he voted for a racist and a slave owner. How funny is that? NE has it right he and his mob are woke. But is NE woke too? That's the million dollar question. Oh and he hates cops that's obvious.

  12. Better be buying guns and loading up on ammo for self-defense as another Minneapolis cop is arrested and charged by the Marxist Democrats.

A 26 year female veteran policewoman is charged with manslaughter.

Meanwhile the Nancy Pelosi's security guard who murdered Alisa Babbit in the capitol will have no charges brought against him.

No one is going to want to be a cop in the future as the Democrat Party will prosecute any police person who defends themselves against a Democrat Party member.

The Marxist Democrats will hand-pick brown-shirt thugs to be policemen and arrest political opponents.

The U.S. is slipping into Communist tyranny.

In the 1930's the Jews kept thinking things like this would never happen in civilized, highly educated Germany. Hitler stole the election and the fate was sealed for Germany's Jewish citizens.

Well, folks its repeating itself here in the United States. Biden stole the election and its the loss of rights for American Christians and Conservatives.

  13. Lucas is in no way a "political rising star".
He's a coward, an incompetent, and a big-time panderer, who will say anything to get out of the room, after which he then takes whatever position is popular that day.
And he's burned any bridges that might have been left still intact by the Slyster, which means that the legislature will never approve local control of the KCPD, at least not as long as Lucas is around.
And no "petition drive" state-wide in Missouri will accomplish that either.
Lucas's "position" on the police and the chief is a great example of what a coward he is.
When the usual east side suspects, the revs, and fools like Gwen Grant say "BOO", Lucas jumps as high as he can.
To say that KCMO has a group of children in city hall is being kind.
And given its dismal financial position the town won't recover from this gang for decades.
    Sad.

  14. Problem is that Chief Smith is NOT good for his troops, either. His refusal to train and discipline -- linked with his borderline-obstruction of investigations into possible criminal acts of force -- has managed to get FIVE cops indicted. Most of those could and should have been handled by suspensions -- but Smith either really believes that spraying mace into the face of a child from 6 inches away is OK or is too cowardly to take on the FOP over it. That left the Prosecutor no choice but to act.

Even if you accept that the DOUBLING of homicides under his watch (and after he abandoned effective anti-violence programs as not macho enough) is not wholly his fault, he is not very good at his job -- which is to MANAGE the Police Department, not his own image.

  16. ^^^Not get in the face of. She had her hands on the officer and was physically trying to stop him and others from arresting her father.

"if we are a republic form of government, then local control makes more sense. if we are ruled by governor appointees, then that is different." We do have a republican form of government. The state is sovereign. It created or enabled cities and counties. Kansas City is entitled to just that amount of self government that its sovereign allots to them, and no more.

Many Kansas City residents, myself included, trust Chief Smith to do the right thing far more than we would ever trust Prosecutor Baker. She is a Democratic Party hack, until recently the state chairman of that party. As one who is totally invested in Democratic politics, her tendency (maybe more than that) will be to favor party constituencies in her official role. It is my sense that she does that quite a lot. Look at the list of uncharged homicides and let me know if any of those suspects are likely to be Republicans.

  18. Could care less if the Left-Wing Liberals living down at the Plaza or Minneapolis or Seattle or Portland get destroyed by rioters as the liberals voted for the form of government that tolerates and supports anarchy.

  25. Quinton Lucas is definitely not right in the head. You can tell he’s in way over his head by his stupid, fatuous, narcisstic FB posts. He’s a drunk and probably used other illicit drugs. He’s starting to look like a crack head. If he wasn’t wearing an expensive suit everywhere he goes, you’d mistake him for a skid row bum. That’s why he has to wear that silly suit and tie to everything.

  26. I keep hearing Mayor mcracist is screaming and hollering at everybody when he doesn’t get his way, he thinks what he says goes, he forgets he has no power to do anything, the clowncil does, I think they forgot that too. They keep mentioning bi-polar disorder, sounds about right with the way he’s been acting. Multiple personality disorder could be a problem too.

He’s been coddleD all his life and made to think he’s somebody special, it’s time to put him in his place and if the clowncil doesn’t have the balls to do it, maybe a third recall effort should happen.
