An industrious Johnson County developer and his wife, a former Shawnee city councilwoman, are peeved at the Kansas Republican Party. Kevin and Dawn Tubbesing filed a lawsuit in Johnson County District Court last month that claims the party committed "false light" invasion of privacy.
It was a payoff.
ReplyDeleteI have know Kevin Tubbesing for many years. Not close friends as I find him aggressive and off putting. He is one of the least congenial people I know and has no boundaries in trying to get his way and push through his ideas upon Chambers of Commerce and City governments. I have no doubt that he plays a dirty game and I would not support his lawsuit. He is generally not a nice person or civic minded.

ReplyDeleteCity government really has NOTHING to do with partisan politics.
ReplyDeleteMaintaining streets, providing affordable utilities, common sense planning and zoning, a high degree of public safety, a balanced tax structure, and all the rest of the actual responsibilities of a municipal government are practical services and not driven by conservative or liberal philosophies.
When that's NOT the case, there's an example of what takes place right here in the metro.
