Overcrowded Kansas City Convention Center Homeless Camp Drops COVID Rules To Prevent Death Amid Record Cold

Earlier this week TKC BLOG COMMUNITY WARNED that the makeshift downtown homeless accommodations were ALREADY overcrowded now we here's a glimpse and pandemic protections abandoned to help keeps people off the street amid arctic temperatures.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For weeks after he opened a daytime shelter for the homeless, Jae Bennett was fairly rigid about the building's 37-person capacity. The last thing he wanted was for a lapse in social distancing to cause the deadly coronavirus to spread among a population in which many people were in frail health.

    The KCMO Homeless Union has filed suit against Mayor Lucas and the City, claiming gross negligence and intentional misconduct, for luring their members into a super-spreader event. The City Legal Department is expected to punt and payout millions in damages!!!

  16. This is a sad situation, I'm just wondering if the health department is going to have any say over this...
    The flu/covid are going to be running rampant! Do they even have restrooms to accommodate this many people? I mean, there's a lot of things that raise concern.

  21. Yep Silvestor, they sho did. Even called me to "bring it to my attention". But, all it took for even the average remodeler to say hell no was a quick drive through the surrounding neighborhood.
