TKC BLOG COMMUNITY SHUTS DOWN O'HARA DRUG REHAB PLAN!!!

Credit to KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS for sharing this bit of community news that puts neighborhoods over development schemes.

To wit . . .

FIRST ON TKC!!! THE O'HARA DRUG REHAB PLAN STAYS LOSING!!!

There's the quote from a local cleric after we blogged this hot mess FIRST and then, ALSO credit where its due, Fox4 followed up

And so, here's the word . . .

Sana Lake is withdrawing from the proposed sale, so it’s off!

From the Diocese:

"Dear Friends in Christ, We have learned that Sana Lake will no longer pursue the purchase and rehab of the former O’Hara High School.

Following negotiations with City officials, along with unforeseen circumstances associated with the use of the property, Sana Lake determined it was in the organization’s best interest to move forward with another site in the area. Community meetings scheduled for January 12 and January 19 have been cancelled.

The diocese will continue to market the O’Hara property, and in collaboration with the leadership at St. Regis, carefully evaluate formal offers which, like Sana Lake, present a growth opportunity for the area.

You may direct questions to the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph Office of Communications . . .

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Bishop Johnston"

It was a bad idea destined for failure. School to drub rehab is just too tough of a sale.

^^^ Agree!

Can we also stop so many other bad ideas destined for failure?

Streetcar extension is the first that comes to mind.

Well, this is some good news, anyway. Now the young children at St. Regis Academy will not be right next door to detoxing criminals on a daily basis. The bishop, who only counts dollar signs, would have sold these little souls out without a second thought but thank God his hoped for sale was not realized.

9:50, don't be so sure about that. If religion is the opium of the people, then a religious school would be a perfect place for drug rehab.

I can't imagine why this sale was even considered with an elementary school RIGHT NEXT DOOR. A school that is PART OF THE DIOCESE.

^^Seriously?
You cannot figure out why?
Think about it.

Money is the answer. The diocese has been selling off old school buildings to whoever wants them for the last several years to raise funds.

Turn it into a crack house for BLM

This would’ve have been the best thing that happened for that neighborhood, with all the hoodrats that have taken over that part of town it makes sense, shoot, they could walk to rehab from they rental property!

There is a very good reason the school moved to lee’s summit because of how bad the neighborhood already is. Nobody wanted to send their kids to a good school in a shitty neighborhood.

They could always turn it in to a restaurant.

@1/12/21 510PM, yeah, the neighborhood is shit. Some of us in the neighborhood are actually trying to turn it around, hence shooting this shit down. There's possibly a school looking at acquiring the property, so fuck drug rehab.
