Kansas City, MO Earns 'D' Rating For Fiscal Health

Deets:

The analysis by Truth in Accounting (TIA), a nonprofit government finance watchdog group, found Kansas City, MO needed $1.7 billion to get out of the red, or $11,300 from each of its taxpayers.

According to the watchdog's annual Financial State of the Cities report, Kansas City, MO owed $3.1 billion and only had $1.4 billion to pay those bills after capital and restricted assets are excluded. 1. Don't worry, the currency is going to so devalued that we can probably make a trade to cover it all. By 2024 a couple of chickens and roll of toilet paper should cover it.

Give us your tired, your sick, your poor. We'll take care of them. We are Super Liberals! Nicaragua? No problemo! Colombian? C'mon, man! Mexican? Muy Bueno! KC welcomes your diversity (you do have some good food), your germs, your poverty. We have plenty to go around for everyone. You know who will suffer? The poor of Kansas City who voted for Quinton and other liberals. Their leaders welcome the immigrants with open arms, to the detriment of the very constituency that voted them in office. But...But...Liberals!

  20. If the four richest men in America would give back the money they took during the pandemic, they could pay for Biden's 1.9 trillion dollar Covid relief bill, all by themselves & still be billionaires.

    I am not exaggerating.

But, let's not blame the rich thieves, let's blame the poor.

To think or even believe this wasn't going to happen is delusional thinking.

  28. It's amazing that the budget hole has gone from $60 million to over a billion pretty much overnight. Maybe someone wasn't telling the truth with the first number, or more likely, they had no idea what they were doing or talking about. Happens all the time at 12th and Oak.
And the idea of liquidating KCMO government and having surrounding cities pick it up.
Who in the world would want it?
Massive debt and poorly maintained infrastructure. What assets of any value would the purchasers be getting?
The state line looks more important every day.
How's the $60 million for a soccer field in the northland coming?
You really can't make this stuff up!

  30. Mayor Lucas ignored Law and Order and supported the anarchists.

People no longer go to Kansas City to dine or shop; thus the City lost tens of millions of sales tax dollars.

  37. This is the epitome of Dim0crat city economics. Its all good until you run out of other peoples money and nobody wants to loan you money because you arent good for it. Keep voting Dim0crat, by race, and installing clowns for city council. Making KC a shithole again.
