WHO SHOULD KANSAS CITY BLAME FOR HISTORIC 2020 HOMICIDE SPIKE?!?

The general consensus among local leaders and pundit hacks is that COVID-19 caused the record-breaking 2020 Kansas City homicide spike.

But blaming "the invisible enemy" is an easy fix for avoiding accountability from voters, residents and taxpayers.

To be fair, murders have been trending upwards for years but, then again, the top cop, mean Jean and Mayor Q aren't exactly new to this cowtown.

More to the point . . .

KANSAS CITY URBAN ACTIVISTS BLAME CHIEF SMITH FOR THE MURDER SPIKE IN AN ONGOING EFFORT TO OUST THE POLICE LEADER & PUSH FOR LOCAL CONTROL IN 2021!!!

So far there's no organized effort to push back against the prosecutor or mayor despite a great deal of grumbling.

Still, if we're REALLY going to talk about accountability offering constructive criticism is part of that process in addition to understanding that there's plenty of blame to go around.

Admittedly, the blame game isn't really helpful but neither is the typical late December keening over the homicide count that invariably seeks to wipe the slate clean and offer local leaders a fresh start for the new year.

    Who to blame?

Only the people who did the killing. They are the ones who should be brought to justice.

mayor Lucas is a dumbass, but he didn't pull the trigger.

The people responsible for the murder rate in Kansas City are the killers who pull the trigger.

One thing that would help, is letting the police shoot to kill when ANY criminal of ANY color pulls a gun or resists arrest.

  7. Every citizen is complicit in the murders - society, in the name of personal freedoms, does not insist on education, family values, personal responsibility, morals and ethics, etc, etc. You can call that stuff old fashion, but look at places in the world where the murder rate is much lower and you will find less personal freedoms, but more security (and bigger government). Like everything, there are tradeoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  8. It takes BOTH the community AND official law enforcement to seriously address violence and crime.
The vast majority of homicides in KCMO involve both black victims and perpetrators. And there is ZERO responsible leadership in that community to encourage residents to cooperate with the police and take an active role in the safety of their own neighborhoods. What passes for leaders insist on clinging to the same tired old excuses and even look the other way as their neighbor hoods continue to be killing zones.
And "official KCMO leaders" don't have the guts to even honestly address the problem. They continue to play make-believe regurgitating nonsense like "it's everybody's problem" or it's "gun violence" instead of identifying the source of over 80% of the murders and taking the necessary actions.
Until BOTH of those very basic facts are changed, the horrendous number of murders in KCMO, year after year fully half of the homicides in New York City, with a population over 17 times KCMO's size, will continue and even increase.
    Sad.

  9. In the end, individuals kill other individuals. The problem isn’t the mayor, the prosecutor, the police chief, you, me, “society”, or systemic racism. Hood rats need to stop killing other hood rats (and the innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire). No amount of gun control, sensitivity training, or other feel-good bullshit matters.

Until the so-called black community takes more than a passing interest and polices their own, their spawn will continue to prey on one another.

These folks remain silent while the city experiences the destruction of lives in the community that they represent.

No amount of money or increasing or decreasing the number of law enforcers will change the tractor of the killings.

We can add others to the above list... barbers, beauticians, hair weavers, they all know the criminals and those responsible for the killings.

In other words THE SILENCE is KILLING US.

  14. The main cause for the high rate of murders is that in the Black community you have single, young women with multiple children and no father in the house to provide discipline.

It's not Mayor Lucas fault (especially since he is Gay and not fathering children), it's not Chief Smith's fault, it's not Peters Baker fault, it's not Trump's fault, it's not whitey's fault.

The fault lies with the parents not raising their kids with discipline and respect for others and the law. Plain and simple.

  24. Everybody always looks at the result & not the cause & then assigns blame on the present as opposed to where in the past the seed was sown. The rise in crime & murder can be traced almost exactly back to August 10, 2014. The day the Ferguson, MO riots began. The blame for the ongoing crime and murder spree can be placed squarely on the shoulders of then US Attorney General Eric Holder & his boss at the time Barack Hussein Obama. These two individuals stirred and fomented disrespect toward both Police Officers and white people in general. This is also where the BLM found it footing and thus hatred toward white people became en vogue creating the reverse racism chasm that we now found ourselves. And guess what, with the results of the 11/3 election and Barry's surrogates now back in charge, all of the above is going to do nothing but get worse.

    ReplyDelete
  25. My favorite part of this study is how Jean Peters says that African Americans being arrested for drug charges at a rate of 14% above their population representation is evidence of police systemic racism but the 11.5 % ( 2.35 years blacks vs 2.11 years whites) increase in their average sentence is "practically identical" due to prosecutors being "trained to think about equity." If blacks are being unfairly targeted by the police should those sentencing numbers be reversed?

    ReplyDelete
  26. "Blame" begins and ends with those who chose to kill.

However, if you want to ascertain the reasons for the cultural conditions that led the killers to think murder was an appropriate choice . . . well . . . that's easy

The answer would be decades of liberalism promoted by government and media.

It's asinine to blame a political party, or national leader. It's silly to suggest that murderers vote. They don't care who is living in the White House. It's self-evident that they don't look for solutions, believing their gun is their solution.

Again, no one is to blame: It simply is what it is.

"According to ItemLive, 32-year-old Ernst Jean-Jacques Jr., a man who was honored by the Boston Red Sox during a “Hats off to Heroes” ceremony, was arrested for assault and battery of a person 60 or older after he punched 80-year-old Linda Greenburg.

Jean-Jacques was part of a counter-protest against Trump supporters last Saturday in Swampscott. Jean-Jacques was dancing in front of the Trump supporters with a bullhorn when Greenburg made her way to the fence separating the Trump supporters and the counter-protesters.

It’s unclear what Greenburg said, but Jean-Jacques is seen punching toward the woman. The camera is obscured so no hit is seen connecting, but Greenburg was later seen doubled over and shaking. Jean-Jacques left the scene shortly after the assault but was apprehended by police soon after.

Jean-Jaques fled the scene soon after the punch but was later apprehended by police. He was released on a $550 bail bond."

    ReplyDelete
  43. This is a generational problem in the black community for KCMO. Single moms, absent dads are the source of the problem. Proof? White community and Latino community don't have the same problems. Also look at the dropout rates in KCMO schools, 90% of black men dropout before getting a high school diploma, I think only star athletes are pushed to succeed. They have the highest murder rate, problems with drug, robbery, sexual assault, gun crimes and it starts with a lack of solid family life. It isn't the mayor, many have had this same problem even before Illus Davis. It isn't the prosecutor, several have not prosecuted minor offenses and now this one is worse as she frees major offenses. It isn't the Police chief, they arrest the criminals and solve most of the crimes. This is an epidemic with one source and that is lack of family values in one segment of the population. Their parents never taught them better, very sad situation. But BLM, right?
