The general consensus among local leaders and pundit hacks is that COVID-19 caused the record-breaking 2020 Kansas City homicide spike.
But blaming "the invisible enemy" is an easy fix for avoiding accountability from voters, residents and taxpayers.
To be fair, murders have been trending upwards for years but, then again, the top cop, mean Jean and Mayor Q aren't exactly new to this cowtown.
More to the point . . .
KANSAS CITY URBAN ACTIVISTS BLAME CHIEF SMITH FOR THE MURDER SPIKE IN AN ONGOING EFFORT TO OUST THE POLICE LEADER & PUSH FOR LOCAL CONTROL IN 2021!!!
So far there's no organized effort to push back against the prosecutor or mayor despite a great deal of grumbling.
Still, if we're REALLY going to talk about accountability offering constructive criticism is part of that process in addition to understanding that there's plenty of blame to go around.
Admittedly, the blame game isn't really helpful but neither is the typical late December keening over the homicide count that invariably seeks to wipe the slate clean and offer local leaders a fresh start for the new year.

Dumb az hell.
ReplyDeleteWho to blame?
Only the people who did the killing. They are the ones who should be brought to justice.
^^ that' would be nice but that doesn't always happen in KC. Which is the reason why elected & appointed officials should be brought to account.
DeleteI blame Trump.
DeleteOf course you do. You’re an idiot
DeleteThat's the point: there is no justice in Jackson with JPB as "prosecutor", and the hood rats know it. So, there's your answer as to who to blame. Her and the only-talk mayor, who forgot this was in his platform.
DeleteI blame Jean Petersucker Baker and the murdering ghetto hood rats she refuses to prosecute.
ReplyDelete^^^ And yet, she has done more to put away violent criminals than anyone else in KC. Weird.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely more than you. CHUD.
You need a photo of every Jackson County Judge.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are available on the 16th Circuit website. Send them Christmas cards while you're at it.
DeleteCrime is NOT caused, it is committed.
ReplyDeletemayor Lucas is a dumbass, but he didn't pull the trigger.
The people responsible for the murder rate in Kansas City are the killers who pull the trigger.
One thing that would help, is letting the police shoot to kill when ANY criminal of ANY color pulls a gun or resists arrest.
Hahaha that's great the same idiot who is certian an invisible but ubiquitous nationwide conspiracy caused massive election fraud now says crime has no cause, it just happens from nothing.
DeleteI blame the parents of the murderers for raising killers and the people who let them have long rap sheets without much punishment.
ReplyDeleteEvery citizen is complicit in the murders - society, in the name of personal freedoms, does not insist on education, family values, personal responsibility, morals and ethics, etc, etc. You can call that stuff old fashion, but look at places in the world where the murder rate is much lower and you will find less personal freedoms, but more security (and bigger government). Like everything, there are tradeoffs.
ReplyDeleteIt takes BOTH the community AND official law enforcement to seriously address violence and crime.
ReplyDeleteThe vast majority of homicides in KCMO involve both black victims and perpetrators. And there is ZERO responsible leadership in that community to encourage residents to cooperate with the police and take an active role in the safety of their own neighborhoods. What passes for leaders insist on clinging to the same tired old excuses and even look the other way as their neighbor hoods continue to be killing zones.
And "official KCMO leaders" don't have the guts to even honestly address the problem. They continue to play make-believe regurgitating nonsense like "it's everybody's problem" or it's "gun violence" instead of identifying the source of over 80% of the murders and taking the necessary actions.
Until BOTH of those very basic facts are changed, the horrendous number of murders in KCMO, year after year fully half of the homicides in New York City, with a population over 17 times KCMO's size, will continue and even increase.
Sad.
In the end, individuals kill other individuals. The problem isn’t the mayor, the prosecutor, the police chief, you, me, “society”, or systemic racism. Hood rats need to stop killing other hood rats (and the innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire). No amount of gun control, sensitivity training, or other feel-good bullshit matters.
ReplyDeleteUntil the so-called black community takes more than a passing interest and polices their own, their spawn will continue to prey on one another.
I blame the Paseo for not being named MLK Blvd.
ReplyDelete7:57 you're correct.
ReplyDeleteThe "will" of those in positions of leadership, whether it be the parents (most likely the Mothers) community leaders, aka council persons, ministers, preachers, pastors, former African-American aka Blacks KC Mayor Cleaver, James. These folks remain silent while the city experiences the destruction of lives in the community that they represent.
No amount of money or increasing or decreasing the number of law enforcers will change the tractor of the killings.
We can add others to the above list... barbers, beauticians, hair weavers, they all know the criminals and those responsible for the killings.
In other words THE SILENCE is KILLING US.
I blame the blacks.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI blame the Andrew Jackson statue !
Frank White
The main cause for the high rate of murders is that in the Black community you have single, young women with multiple children and no father in the house to provide discipline.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Mayor Lucas fault (especially since he is Gay and not fathering children), it's not Chief Smith's fault, it's not Peters Baker fault, it's not Trump's fault, it's not whitey's fault.
The fault lies with the parents not raising their kids with discipline and respect for others and the law. Plain and simple.
bring back alcohol prohibition.
ReplyDeleteWhitey's fault, we should have picked our own cotton.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThe blame goes to, Quinton Lucas, Jean Peters Baker, the corrupt judges, Patrick Mahomes for inciting violence and spreading racism, and all of the racist black people who think they are above the law because they are black.
It's mostly a cultural problem which cannot be directly addressed by the Mayor or the Police Chief. I do wonder, however, how many of those involved are on parole or been in the system for years....that would be the responsibility of the prosecutor.

Family of criminals
Family of farmers
Family of FIRST RESPONDERS!!!
I agree with Hyperblogal to a point.
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor has not addressed the issue as he should have and has to often shown he supports lawlessness. It's time to stand up and say BLM is a poor excuse to use for a race of people who could care less about their neighbor or follow the correct forms of living in a civilized society.
^^OK Boomer.
ReplyDeleteWho's to blame? Fatherless households. This criminal culture, this anti social behavior is the rage of the fatherless.
ReplyDeleteI blame fathers who don't stick around to raise their children and teach them honor, morals, and manners. I blame mothers who have babies with said men and then do not teach their children right and wrong. I blame those who in spite of being raised by horrible parents commit these crimes while knowing they are wrong, but having no respect for their fellow man. The break down of the family is responsible for a majority of our poverty and crime problems.
ReplyDeleteEverybody always looks at the result & not the cause & then assigns blame on the present as opposed to where in the past the seed was sown. The rise in crime & murder can be traced almost exactly back to August 10, 2014. The day the Ferguson, MO riots began. The blame for the ongoing crime and murder spree can be placed squarely on the shoulders of then US Attorney General Eric Holder & his boss at the time Barack Hussein Obama. These two individuals stirred and fomented disrespect toward both Police Officers and white people in general. This is also where the BLM found it footing and thus hatred toward white people became en vogue creating the reverse racism chasm that we now found ourselves. And guess what, with the results of the 11/3 election and Barry's surrogates now back in charge, all of the above is going to do nothing but get worse.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of this study is how Jean Peters says that African Americans being arrested for drug charges at a rate of 14% above their population representation is evidence of police systemic racism but the 11.5 % ( 2.35 years blacks vs 2.11 years whites) increase in their average sentence is "practically identical" due to prosecutors being "trained to think about equity." If blacks are being unfairly targeted by the police should those sentencing numbers be reversed?
ReplyDelete"Blame" begins and ends with those who chose to kill.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if you want to ascertain the reasons for the cultural conditions that led the killers to think murder was an appropriate choice . . . well . . . that's easy
The answer would be decades of liberalism promoted by government and media.
The blame lies with the blacks and their corrupt culture if you can call it that. The worship of drugs, guns and pussy.
ReplyDeleteI ran several of Boomer Hater/Geezer/Pops/Geriatric Fu*ktard/Old People/Weird/CHUD boy's comments through an online age detection app for written materials and it showed in the results that he is only 10 years old. You can tell his age by his lack of writing skills and his frequent temper tantrums. I'm guessing he dropped out of elementary school and his mother doesn't know what to do with him, especially when he continues to wet the bed and fill his diaper. For his welfare, we’ve started a GoFundMe page titled “Save the 10-Year-Old Bed-Wetting Dumbass."
ReplyDeleteI thought this would stop with all the BLM murals and the renaming of the Nichols Fountain.
ReplyDeleteFerguson was in fact the opening bell of this circus and while Obama and Holder created the aftermath, they never could have done it without Obama's little bitch Jay Nixon. St. Louis County was handling that just fine until Nixon sent hand selected so called Troopers down there to march and Flash gang sign with the protesters.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what you get when you vote for Democrats.
^^^^I agree
ReplyDeleteCriminals are not scared of Mayor 10-10-10.
ReplyDeleteThey know how many he has pardoned or let off the hook with the very very very very violent protests... that have made businesses close and people fear for their lives.
How many more criminals will be pardon or let off the hook?
Druggies, protesters, the list goes on and on and on and on.
Vote Republicans in and the nonsense and murders stop.
Watch as businesses continue to shut down, move out and leave.
And what about his side kick... the medical guy Wrecks Archlesser?
Move while and if you can.
Blame the NRA.
ReplyDeleteThe 2 peter suckers are to blame.
ReplyDeleteI blame the prosecutor. Petersucker.
ReplyDeleteNo one is to blame. You can't blame local leaders for a national problem. It isn't possible to prevent murder. That's the problem; everyone is looking for a solution when there is no solution.
ReplyDeleteIt's asinine to blame a political party, or national leader. It's silly to suggest that murderers vote. They don't care who is living in the White House. It's self-evident that they don't look for solutions, believing their gun is their solution.
Again, no one is to blame: It simply is what it is.
^^^^^^^And yet 11:25 wasn't all that many years ago it wasn't a problem. Get It!
ReplyDelete^^^And yet Obama sucked azz at doing anything about it.
ReplyDelete^^^^That is true
ReplyDeleteThe homicide rate should be blamed on our failing public schools who create these nihilistic monsters. As for KCPD and JaCo Prosecutors I blame them for being weak in property crime which incentivizes more property crime.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, the violent BLM filth that the mayor supports just put another feather in their collective helmets.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.itemlive.com/2020/12/13/man-charged-with-assaulting-an-elderly-woman-at-swampscott-trump-rally/?fbclid=IwAR2NlBeRu__j0sBCK4RHj2QjHrif1Gho_evbDDfn0ceZIVEhW0vPwtVitcQ
"According to ItemLive, 32-year-old Ernst Jean-Jacques Jr., a man who was honored by the Boston Red Sox during a “Hats off to Heroes” ceremony, was arrested for assault and battery of a person 60 or older after he punched 80-year-old Linda Greenburg.
Jean-Jacques was part of a counter-protest against Trump supporters last Saturday in Swampscott. Jean-Jacques was dancing in front of the Trump supporters with a bullhorn when Greenburg made her way to the fence separating the Trump supporters and the counter-protesters.
It’s unclear what Greenburg said, but Jean-Jacques is seen punching toward the woman. The camera is obscured so no hit is seen connecting, but Greenburg was later seen doubled over and shaking. Jean-Jacques left the scene shortly after the assault but was apprehended by police soon after.
Jean-Jaques fled the scene soon after the punch but was later apprehended by police. He was released on a $550 bail bond."
Violent Democrat BLM scum want one Mask/ring to rule over us all.
Who is to blame for the record murders? Other than Jean Petersucker Baker? Other than Petersucker, I don’t know.
ReplyDeleteI blame Mayor Q who has increased unemployment in this city by a ten fold.
ReplyDeleteThis is a generational problem in the black community for KCMO. Single moms, absent dads are the source of the problem. Proof? White community and Latino community don't have the same problems. Also look at the dropout rates in KCMO schools, 90% of black men dropout before getting a high school diploma, I think only star athletes are pushed to succeed. They have the highest murder rate, problems with drug, robbery, sexual assault, gun crimes and it starts with a lack of solid family life. It isn't the mayor, many have had this same problem even before Illus Davis. It isn't the prosecutor, several have not prosecuted minor offenses and now this one is worse as she frees major offenses. It isn't the Police chief, they arrest the criminals and solve most of the crimes. This is an epidemic with one source and that is lack of family values in one segment of the population. Their parents never taught them better, very sad situation. But BLM, right?
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor supports lawlessness, riots, and hates business owners and their employees. The mayor can't stand law abiding residents who work hard.
ReplyDelete12:15 in other words he’s a racist, he hates whitey and wants you dead.
ReplyDeleteWhenever you increase unemployment you have increased homelessness and crime. Without a doubt the mayor is to blame with all of his shut downs and restrictions. He has blood on his hands.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteWho to blame for Kansas City's historic homicide spike?
The NRA. And the Republicans they buy.
@ 12:15, 12:18 & 12:19: Why didn't you just put all of your BS in one post and save us all a bunch of seconds?
ReplyDeleteMo Rage - The NRA - If we just banned guns, then all of those gangbangers would turn in their guns and the streets would be safer.
ReplyDeleteMove your family down to 37th and Chestnut and get back to us all later you phony.
The blame all starts at home. Nobody, including parents when they can be found, is stepping up to teach the hoodrat thugs proper behavior and right from wrong.
ReplyDeleteNoticed Mayor McKneely's mask is making his ears stick out more. This makes it easier for his partner to hang on.
“The blame all starts at home. Nobody, including parents when they can be found, is stepping up to teach the hoodrat thugs proper behavior and right from wrong.”
ReplyDeleteNot true, dey be doin a good job of teachin dem how’s to be excellent killers, robbers, rapers, burn and loot, how to live off of da gubmint fo life, how to gets out of paying rent and bills, buy and sell drugs, they are really good at fancy cars and clothes too!
They are talented...... at all the wrong things.
Never seen KC on the show 48 Hours. Is that because we never solve murder crimes?
ReplyDeleteKc was on there just last week.
DeleteDONALD TRUMP and his magat nazis
ReplyDeleteHaving a worthless, weak prosecutor sure makes the problem worse, but Petersucker didn’t cause the murders. She just lets the offenders go free.
ReplyDeletePetersucker is completely worthless. Why wouldn’t she be? Every single government official we have in city or county is a worthless piece of shit. Why expect Petersucker to do her job? Petersucker will never do her job, nor should we expect her to.
ReplyDeleteChurch of the Resurrection deserves some of the blame for letting homosexuals in. They are now about 90% of the membership there.
ReplyDeleteGona change their name to the church of Insertation
DeleteThere is no correlation between homosexuals at COR and hood rats achieving a record murder total. They are two distinctly different unpleasant occurrences.
ReplyDeleteThe blame belongs with LBJ's failed War on Poverty. A system that incentives single parent (mother) household has decimated the black family unit and black culture. Before these programs, black households reflected similar demographic stats as white households, with similar levels of violent crime.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link for the homicide stats for Kansas City and St. Louis. Take a look at them and then decide who is to blame. I have posted links to these stats over and over on social media sites and message boards. Getting sick of 'white supremacy' taking the blame for all of the societal problems.

COVID?? According to the f** liberals that's supposed to keep us in our bunkers: KC should have set an all-time record LOW.
ReplyDeleteTypical lib double standard- always trying to have it both ways using the most politically expedient issue at hand.
2:59 thank you!!!!!!! I have tried to explain that to people for many years, those of us old enough to remember know how LBJs policies started this endless cycle, and just as he said, “we will have blacks voting democrat for a hundred years!” Or something similar to that!
ReplyDeleteJust need one more prayer vigil...that'll fix it just one more
ReplyDelete1:25 , you might want to Look up the term Nazis. Socialists would be the other Party. Using a term and knowing it's definition seems to be a lack of many on these posts. Weird
ReplyDeleteLook at the amount of excuses for Black based violent crime. No wonder so many dress as women and still have lifeless balls. Weird
ReplyDeleteThe more people KCPD arrest the more murders there will be. Police technology has outpaced the struggle for survival.
ReplyDeleteI mean hell everything is Trump's fault.
ReplyDeleteNobody's fault except the individual. Nobody is to blame for murdering somebody else except the murderer.
ReplyDeleteBlame yourself.
ReplyDelete8:18 - Nazi = National SOCIALIST German Workers Party.
