Kansas City, Kansas Sauer Castle Kaput

An old school real estate legacy suffered a setback today as the history of the people who built the metro slowly crumbles and disappears.

Take a look . . .

City boards up historic Sauer Castle in KCK

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) - Boards now cover the windows of one of KCK's historic landmarks. The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas has now deemed the Sauer Castle unsafe. The mansion, placed on the National Register of Historical Places in 1977, was built by a German immigrant in 1870.

Why did they wait so long to protect this historic gem? If independence had this jewel they would’ve fixed it by now. Independence takes history serious and thank god for that!

Tear her down. Its over. There is no money to fix it. Or wait and it will fall over in 2 years. Either way its over. Its as good as gone.

It's owned by some dude who has been saying he would renovate.

For forty years.

Saying, not renovate, for forty years.

Wait for some Crackhead to burn it down. Complex pondering ended. Weird

KCK can find a way to ruin anything. The entire city should be declared a toxic waste dump.

Tear her down. Its not even 200 years old. Its not special. There are trees around here MUCH older than then pile of bricks. Its a junk pile. Carl Lopp tried, but its alot of money to fix and he would have has he had the extra $. Just tear it down. Put in a nice mega mansion in a classic style there. Its a nice plot of land.

Yes we wouldn't want a big run on people moving into KCK. 🤣 What a moron.
