Downtown Kansas City Developers Hope To Feast On Corpse Of Denny's

It wasn't worth linking to the hype blog that pushed this bit of "news" from local developers but it's an interesting tidbit nonetheless. A longtime breakfast spot has closed along with so many other local restaurants . . . Of course developers have grand schemes for luxury living space "when the economic climate improves" which might be sometime close to never for speculative projects that are often propped up by taxpayers.

Downtown Kansas City Denny's Shuts Down

The Denny's restaurant at 16th and Broadway has closed . . . Other downtown options including the Town Topic, Spokes Café|Cyclery, Banksia, the Opera House and hotel restaurants remain available.

  5. Denny's geezer customer base is afraid to go downtown in the first place, which is why the closing isn't a surprise.
