It wasn't worth linking to the hype blog that pushed this bit of "news" from local developers but it's an interesting tidbit nonetheless. Downtown Kansas City Denny's Shuts Down

The Denny's restaurant at 16th and Broadway has closed . . . Other downtown options including the Town Topic, Spokes Café|Cyclery, Banksia, the Opera House and hotel restaurants remain available.

Another one bites the dust! Thanks qball, you’re doing a fantastic job of ruining the whole city! Matter of fact, you’re doing such a good job you’re killing the entire metro area! Wonderful, fantastic! Pat yourself on the back because you’ve done the impossible! Now that’s momentum right there!

What a tumbleweed town Kansas City has become. Can't even keep a Denny's open.

Have you eaten at a Denny's lately?
Hell, Denny's employees are the ones trying to close all of the Denny's down!

Denny's geezer customer base is afraid to go downtown in the first place, which is why the closing isn't a surprise.
