TONIGHT: KANSAS CITY MOURNS JUSTICE GINSBURG AS HISTORIC SUPREME COURT NOMINATION FIGHT LOOMS!!!

In the big picture, this political hot mess in the making has serious implications . . . However, cowtown political denizens have little if any influence in the decision despite a bevy of opinions and advocacy we’ve endured already. For now, here are just a few of the news links we’re checking . . .

  31. The Senate may end up holding the vote after the election but the Democrats, who are so ruthless that they are willing to burn cities and kill people to seize power, would not be such good sports as to not hold a vote if they were in this position. They are ruthless and power hungry and the one way to confront them is to be just as ruthless.

  36. There simply is not enough time to nominate and hold hearings before the election. The process takes 2 to 3 months in the best of times. The Senate is scheduled to recess in less than 3 weeks on October 9th and won't return until November 9th.

BTW, why try to rush this? Trump wins the election and then he picks with no dispute. Ramming this through would be an admission from Trump and McConnell that they realize they are losing this election.

Take a pill and calm down. Ginsburg's seat will be filled by the winner in November. Is it Trump 2020 or not?

  53. You gotta love all of the fake eulogies, smirking sentiments and pretense from the right when it comes to Ginsberg.

Politics is such a nasty, back stabbing shitty way to make a living.

I am glad she is dead. So are most all Americans who believe in the Rule Of Law (Which literally makes everything from groceries on the shelves to paved roads, indoor toilets, running water, you fuckin name it, possible.) and the strict interpretation of the Constitution. Ginsberg was the tip of the spear when it came to a soup de jour, emotional interpretation of what Progressives call "A Living Document".

An activist judiciary is exactly what has brought this country to the brink of Civil War. The many tiered justice system and ever moving target that affects the economy, criminal justice, civil suits and control and power over our everyday lives by radical jurists (Especially Federal Judges) who can, with some bullshit opinion from the 9th Circuit, or, literally any of the thousands of Federal Judges, restrict the power of the Executive and ignore Legislation and statutes already in place.

I could give a shit less about Roe V Wade and in fact, even though I am Conservative, I personally don't want to be involved in any way, in some lady's decision to not have a baby. In fact, it seems reasonable to me, that if it is within the first 2 or 3 months, there is NO reasonable argument that can be made, which would indicate the fetus is a sentient being.

The Progressive/Fascists/BLM/AntiFa cabal is the Kraken that the DNC has released and the door was opened by Communist/Socialist liars like Ginsberg who twisted words, presdigitationally deceived Americans and convinced so many that emotion and feelings were more important that the general well being of all, based on the actual written law.

She did some real damage. No hero and in fact, was one of the leaders of the 5th column of seditious, lying traitors who are responsible for the chasm over which we glare malevolently at each other today.

Three conservatives, three swamp creatures, and three communist extremists.

RBG was confirmed in 42 days from the date of her nomination. Sandra Day O'Conner was confirmed in 33 days. John Paul Stevens was confirmed in 19. If Trump is smart and nominates a woman, there won't be any drunken sluts claiming to have recovered a memory of sexual assault that allegedly happened 30 years ago, so the confirmation could potentially go very smoothly and quickly.

  71. She was born Jewish, but then walked away from any faith after she was excluded from a Jewish meeting. She was Godless, care not if Gods newest creations on earth (babies) were killed. She had faith in herself. She had pride in herself (and pride is was downfall of Adam, Eve, and Satan). Wanting to be like God, or take the place of God in your life is a hell sentence.

Either Ruth pays for her sins in hell, or she accepted Christ's offer and he paid them-so she doesnt have to go to hell.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Ironic that the "Supreme Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg" is now a defendant herself and standing in front of God on her own "Judgement Day". It doesn't matter if she was a "pretty good person", God doesnt grade on a curve. If she ever broke any of the 10 commandments (lied, stole, hated, lusted, didnt honor her parents) then she will be sentenced to Hell forever (as no unforgiven evil can EVER, EVER be present in God's kingdom).

So the great Ruth has probably already plead innocent by claiming she was a great and powerful person on earth which means nothing to God - if she was not a believer, she is on her way to hell forever. Hell is not rehabilitation, its punitive, You dont get out. She had her chance to look to God's law book/codes (the Bible) but never did, she never read his rules, the ones she would be judged by after she died. She didnt believe in God. Now the greatest "woman judge" in history, full of pride and ego, has been rejected by God and is going to be cast into the lake of fire, where she will be kept with all the other criminals, nazis, murderers and "pretty good people" that rejected God's offer of salvation while they were alive. She can join Pilot, the Judge that sentenced Christ to death....how ironic, the Judge has been Judged....

    ReplyDelete
  80. 12:23 - its ok to hate and despise evil acts. Its ok to love good acts. Never any laws against that in any civilization ever! Its accepted everywhere.

You want to talk about hate? When God, who will ultimately be in charge of fate of billions of people, (including you) judges them on the great judgement day and starts casting them into hell - why don't you stand up and disagree with God's hatred? See what happens. Tell God that hating and punishing sin is wrong in "your book". The Bible has said for thousands of years that God's wrath (aka hatred) will be poured out upon the ungodly. And there is nothing you can do about it. God is in charge, whether you agree with him or not. You already have the DEATH SENTENCE from God. AKA "The wages of sin is death" and you will die someday! So your already sentences and awaiting your death!

  89. The "Judge not lest you be judged" means dont accuse someone of the SAME THING thing you have done. I have never voted to allow the abortion of millions of kids. Ruth did. So I can judge her. And the bible does allow judgement and even execution after judgement, for certain crimes. Judging is allowed. Christ judged the strict, most religious, Jewish Pharisees - and told them they would be going to hell. So Christ judged and will judge again.

  94. "RBG was confirmed in 42 days from the date of her nomination. Sandra Day O'Conner was confirmed in 33 days. John Paul Stevens was confirmed in 19. If Trump is smart..."

Great post? Nope, almost entirely wrong.

You did happen to cherry pick 3 nominations that were approved unanimously making these the least contentious and fastest track possible. 98-0 type votes.

RBG replaced Byron White. White announced his retirement March 19th, 1993, effective at the end of the court's session in June. Clinton met with candidates for 3 months and nominated RBD on June 14th. She was confirmed Aug 3rd. That's 51 days from the nomination to confirmation and 138 days from the announced retirement that opened the seat. The full process took four and a half months. The Senate was operating on a full working schedule with no recess.

O'Connor was nominated on July 7th 1981 and confirmed unanimously September 21st. That's 11 weeks. 77 days from nomination to confirmation. Her predecessor announced he was retiring June 18th, adding an additional 3 weeks to the selection process, making it 3 months.

John Paul Stevens replaced William Douglas. Douglas had a stroke in 1974 and stayed on the court for nearly a year. He was finally convinced to submit his resignation November 12th. President Ford nominated Stevens a little over 2 weeks later, on 11/28/75 and it was confirmed 12/17. That is 19 days from nomination and 35 days from the opening of the seat that Ford was expecting because of incapacitation.

RBG's death was announced the evening of 9/18. Trump took 10 days to name his first pick and 12 days for his second. That puts this selection announcement at the end of the month or beginning of October. By the time the pick is announced, we will be about 30 days from the election. And don't forget the Senate is adjourning October 9th so members can go home to campaign. There is not enough time to get hearings, debate and vote before the election. Now "If Trump were smart" and could find a 98-0 candidate, maybe they could pull it off. More realistically, a lame duck session in late November / December would still be a fast track process, but possible from a calendar prospective.

All this shows is that you can't believe the made up facts from the MAGA people at TKC. The "if Trump is smart" was the first bad assumption that was a tell the facts would be bullshit. Newsflash, he's not smart. Again, if Trump is going to win, why even bother with a rush job? There is no need. Win reelection and then he has all the time in the world.

What Trump and McConnell are telling you all with the promises to fill this quickly, is they know they are going to lose the White House and the Senate. That's the real story here.
