KANSAS CITY POLITICAL #TBT: ACTIVIST CLAY CHASTAIN CHALLENGES FORMER MAYOR SLY JAMES AND ALLEGATIONS OF AMERICAN SYSTEMIC RACISM!!!

This week we've seen former Kansas City Mayor Sly James reestablish himself on the national stage. He has made a few national news appearances, promoted his book and offered his insight into the current culture war. Many speculate the former Mayor is politicking for a D.C. appointment if the Democratic Party takes back the White House.

Meanwhile . . .

Renowned activist Clay Chastain hasn't been as lucky. He lost his congressional bid and continues an arduous legal fight against city hall to push a fixed rail transit past Mayor Q & Council.

Still . . . Tonight we share a word from this longtime denizen of the discourse in order to examine current cultural trends and a few statements touted by one of this town's most popular leaders.

Checkit:

Clay Chastain: Are Sly James, BLM and liberal democrats right? Is there systemic racism in America?

Sly James, BLM and many liberal democrats are trying to put citizens on a guilt trip by claiming racism is systemic in America. Many non-thinking people have been swept up into believing this false, damaging and defamatory charge.

Interestingly, Sly never alleged this while Mayor of Kansas City for 8-years during which Kansas City's black on black murder rate soared as he pushed white elitists projects. The systemic racism charge appears to be largely based on the brutal behavior of a few bad racist cops (that we must weed out of America's police force). No doubt, America has a few bad racist citizens in everything. But few, is not systemic.

In today's society and business world, where is there undeniable proof racism is systemic in America? In fact, who has really even bothered to define systemic racism? Let us assume it can be defined as a vast number of white Americans (still the country's majority) thinking they are genetically superior to minority races (especially blacks) and thus deprive them on that basis alone. If so, where is that attitude represented on the ground? In today's America, whites openly....worship with blacks, go to school with blacks, swim with blacks, marry blacks, play professional sports with blacks, vote with blacks, work alongside blacks, want blacks to succeed and are openly friends with blacks. Nationally, a majority of whites elected a minority black President. Locally, the majority of white Kansas Citians elected a black mayor three different times over me (1995, 2015, 2019) - a white man. Yes, people tend to naturally congregate with their own race (like in Japan, China, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Amazon, etc.) but that does not mean those people look down on other races as inferior to theirs. It usually just means people are more comfortable with others who look like them and share the same cultural and religious distinctions.

It is true many whites are upset over the on-going black on black violence taking place in American cities mostly by a small minority of economically-deprived black citizens. However, if a small segment of white people were committing most of the violent crime in America, would not blacks, and other minorities, also be upset by this? Being upset by something that endangers one's safety, terrorizes one's community and offends one's morals, is not the same as being upset over someone's race or skin color.

Many democrats, like Bernie Sanders, have called President Trump a racist. Where has the President ever said he believes his race superior to other races? Can any of his policies (even border security) be proven racist? How is the President's efforts to...lower black unemployment, create opportunity zones in inner cities, enact judicial reform and financially assist black colleges racist?

If Sly James, BLM and others want to claim that America and President Trump are racist, then they need to come to the debate with proof - not inflammatory, empty and racially-oriented rhetoric drawn upon an America of the past.

There is no clear way to prove this, but I believe the vast majority of white Americans (today) are not racist and accept all people equally so long as they are... peaceful, respectful of others, work hard, are not lazy and do their part to take care of their families, communities and neighborhoods.

Right now, it may be politically fashionable to put America on a racist guilt trip. However, I for one am not buying it.

  6. Systemic violence seems far worse than any systemic racism ...

Black males aged 15-35 make up 3% of the nation’s population and are responsible for:

    53% of all mass shootings
    52% of all homicides
42% of all murders of on duty police
    30% of all rapes
    56% of all robberies
    33% of all aggravated assaults
    30% of all burglaries
    38% of all 'Violent Crime'
33% of all crimes against 'families and children'

    1. 909. I tried to make sense out of this a few years back. I think about 2/3 of the criminality is a direct function of poverty and unrelated to race. In other words, whites at the same poverty level perform crime at high levels as well.

They should be grateful they have the opportunity to advance here rather than being killed and eaten by cannibal warlords in their homeland.

  14. It's all about getting a job, working hard at that job, loving your family, staying with the children you created, and not breaking the law. That recipe helps keep a lot of people of all races stay out of trouble and live decent lives. Kids without active fathers in their lives are 20 times more likely to go to prison.

American manufacturing would help a lot of blacks more than anything. Trump has been the best at getting some of that, but it's nothing like the days when a lot of manufacturing plants were in America. At least he brought black and Hispanic unemployment to record lows. Ironically, Obama still holds records for high black unemployment.

  15. These black people who are caught up in the LBJ trap as well as the trap people like Sly James, Quinton Lucas, and Patrick Mahomes set up for them will never listen. So it's best to let them believe the victim BS. As far as I'm concerned these people are selfish weak people and always will be. BTW Black slavery never happened in our county! How do you like that for erasing history.

  16. 9:05's comment is great, but, people, in my opinion fail to understand that if you use your common sense and extrapolate, the unsolved crimes are ALSO committed by blacks.

Around 90% of ALL violent crime in this nation is committed by blacks.

It's sickening that we, as a nation, spend so much time kissing black ass and hoping they are happy.

    Fuck them.

  21. Todays Black perceived racism is not the same as the real racism of their forefathers. The inability to evolve as a culture and assimilate must be blamed on something and somebody. Racism will do as a catch all term explain deficiencies in the Black community. The critical eye of society has "disdain" for their culture and their lawlessness. Disdain and criticism is not racism. The Black community must adopt critical thinking, educational advancement, law compliance, emotional maturity, etc. and put the blame where blame is due, then move on.

Current Race Card Racism is the Worlds biggest misdirection of all time.
