Unemployment diary: I'm a 51-year-old bartender in Kansas who's been out of work since March
The Unemployed States of America takes readers deep inside the decimated American workforce. Stacie Sulzen is a 51-year-old bartender based in Kansas City, Kansas. Her bar closed at midnight on March 16, and she hasn't been back since. It took her about three months to start getting unemployment, and she didn't have any money left by the time it arrived.

You need to have ambition to live in America. 27 years as a bar tender in a dive bar in a crappy part of town. At this age you would suspect she would be one of the owners or have her own bar. This isnt what our social safety net is for. Get some ambition and get a real job.
ReplyDeleteBartending/serving is a great job. Lots of people make solid incomes in restaurant industry. Unfortunately many will not be able to find jobs as the # of restaurants/bar closings continue.
ReplyDeleteServing a drug (booze) to unhappy people who get hooked on it is not good...
