Consensus Among Critics: Kansas City Recall Mayor Quinton Lucas Group Is Racist

Without offering much in the way of reporting, the Kansas City Star has condemned a local political effort.

The screed piggy-backs on our much more exciting recent bloggy discussion and attempts to influence voters who dare to peek behind their paywall . . .

Recall KC Mayor Quinton Lucas? Unfair, misguided effort deserves only one response: No

Money line:

"The concerns, and those of other petition signers, are squishy. The recall affidavit claims Lucas has shown “poor judgment and inadequate leadership” related to the city’s COVID-19 response and “civil unrest.”

"This is thin oatmeal. Even if you disagree with the mayor’s judgment or leadership, his actions hardly justify a recall election. Recalls are nasty and divisive, and should be reserved for criminal behavior or obvious corruption, not a policy dispute. If disagreements over local issues become the standard, we’ll have recall elections every 90 days.

"It isn’t even clear whether the alleged failings are valid grounds for recall under the city’s charter . . ."

Interesting and something we talked about two weeks ago. Here's a trend that's far more important . . .

GROWING SOCIAL MEDIA OPPOSITION AGAINST THE MAYOR Q RECALL DENOUNCES THE EFFORT AS RACIST!!!

The overwhelming pro-Trump stance and universal outrage against BLM voiced by the Recall Q group has set off a warning among local activists and sparked a surprising wave of support for the young Mayor . . . This is odd and a weird benefit for the city hall leader who is also confronting condemnation from some of the more strident East Side urban leaders.

Nevertheless . . .

Here at TKC we're agnostic about nearly all things political and regard every slap fight as nothing more or less than a source of entertainment and valuable component of the local discourse.

There's a lot more to unpack about this effort and we're disappointed about the dearth of objective journalism when it comes to newbie Northland organizers and the impressive momentum they've created for a conservative special interest in KCMO politics.

Still, on the bright side . . . The recall petition is finally being taken SERIOUSLY and the political opposition is only now preparing to push back.

Developing . . .

Hey tkc, don't forget the inevitable reply. Recall supporters are now saying that accusation of racism are racist.

A totally productive discussion!

Effort to recall racist mayor because of his ineptitude is labeled as racist by self-hating whites. Have we reached peak stupidity yet?

Its really laughable to hear white folks call a black person racist. I guess it takes one to know one.

What's laughable is the left pretending we still live in 1963, and using that to keep black people enslaved.

Hey 12:07, you know what's laughable? Calling anyone who criticizes a black person a racist when what's being said has nothing to do about their color, just that the SUCK as a politico. Or only calling White people that criticize black people out - not other black people who also think politico's SUCK.

Key message: You SUCK.

I think the recall effort is gaining support and those like Lucas and the Star will start saying what ever to try and hurt the recall effort. As many have pointed out when ever someone or something is pointed out as negative against a black person the group or the person speaking out get labeled as a racist. To me that's the old cop out to start yelling when you have nothing else left to throw on the fire to keep it burning to shine light on you.

If the Kansas Shitty Scar is against it then it is hella good!

Black privilege is never having your incompetence questioned because to do so would be racist.

Lucas is a racist plain and simple, he told the acting city manager to furlough as many white employees as possible.

Lucas has been and continues to be the worst mayor this city has ever seen, he makes Gloria squittiro look like genius. That’s bad people, real bad.

If this recall was racist, why didn’t Sly James or Clever get recalled. They were worthless black mayors just like Quinton. No, it isn’t racist but it is anti-homosexual. These recall people oppose homosexuals and have a homophobic agenda.

I TOLD YOU SO!

The gay card is the only one that Q Ball has left in his hand. It will be played soon.

NO... Quinton Lucas is the racist one, and anyone with half a brain can see that. He hasn't tried to hide it at all. He's a trouble maker and not qualified to do the job or lead the city as mayor. Stop trying to turn this around on innocent people who want him out because of corruption and racism. It's not just Kansas City who sees this, it's the entire metro area. He's NO GOOD!

Anonymous said...

^^Maybe, but gay white men are just as racist against black men as any straight white men.

It is not racist to say "The black Mayor of Kansas City Sucks as a Mayor and is incompetent" if he is a black man if you would also say "The mayor of Kansas City Sucks as a Mayor and is incompetent". And since almost everybody would agree with either statement then it is not racist.

Typical response... playing the race card to silence the TRUTH.

The boy blunder is toast, his political career is over, the only thing left for him is getting a job with his bestus friends at blm, he'll fit right in with those crooks and racists, it’s right up his alley.

He should practice saying, "Hi! Mah I hep u?" Could come in real handy. 😏

It's ok to hate the mayor because he is black, he hates us because we are white. Fuck him.

BLM just put a 5th ace in blacks race card deck. Think their no tipping, obstinate do nothing attitude was bad before, just wait. Blacks are all Karens now.

Bandit said...

I hate Q Ball because he is an incompetent, racist, fool. The color of his skin is merely coincidence.

Bandit said...

I mean, I'm white, and look how incompetent I am!

Third black mayor. First recall. Not racist. Every signer I talked to was quite clear about their reasons. Usually it was lawlessness. Others cited his destruction of the city’s economy and character. Many cited his inability to control council. MANY cited his march on police HQ, inciting of violence and the countless laws his ignored or broken. Like most racists, race is all he sees. He can’t be a failure he must be a victim of racism.

I have never seen more race based hate anywhere but here. And now you all deny it and everybody is suddenly proper and polite about it certainly NOT being a race-thing. Even using proper capitalization and punctuation.

Lordy be. LMFAO. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!
