Kansas City Activist Scribe Explains 'Why America Needs Socialism' In Latest Work

Right now we share Summer reading for our critical thinking blog community and an invitation to explore and react to alternative ideas with something other than a bad impression of Sean Hannity.

Check the premise of this noteworthy local book . . .

"Due to the massive inequality and other issues caused by post-World War II capitalism, today’s young people are embracing socialism, which has been reflected in the U.S. by the ascendancy of politicians such as Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This is not a new trend, however, as historical icons such as Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King, Jr., Helen Keller, and Mahatma Gandhi, among many others, spoke boldly against capitalism and in support of socialist ideals.

"Why America Needs Socialism presents a contemporary case for socialism built on the words and ideas of history’s greatest leaders, thinkers, and artists. Exploring their views and connecting them to present day struggles, this book is crucial reading for anyone seeking to learn from the past in order to change today’s world in revolutionary ways."

About the author:

G.S. Griffin is a political writer, activist, and the author of Racism in Kansas City: A Short History and Why America Needs Socialism: The Argument from Martin Luther King, Helen Keller, Albert Einstein, and Other Great Thinkers. A former Christian conservative, he is now an atheist and a socialist.

We were inspired to cover the new book release after a Youtube chat with the young author that offered some insight on his vocation as an author.

Venezuela as well is another great example where same as 9 out of 10 Venezuelans live in poverty. the country’s inflation rate is estimated to be over 1 million percent or more. Under Nazi Germany you could be shot or placed in a worker camp/slavery if deemed to not be a good member of society.

Socialism ideas is what's killing our country today.

  11. 7:44 What innovations did the Scandinavian countries come up with in the last century? Almost every innovation that has made mankind's life better and healthier has taken place in the US or to a lessor extent Europe. The fact that a few small countries with a highly educated population can have a much higher level of government spending and still survive is hardly a reason for the US to imitate it. In fact these countries have gravitated away from some socialistic ideas in the last few years because they proved unworkable.

  12. The proof that America DOESNT need socialism is the fact that with in 100 Years after the countries founding we were the gua t of The World economically so much that millions of people around The World gave up everything to come here

  15. We already have socialism. It's only socialism when it doesn't benefit you. If you dumbfucks can't realize that I can't help you, but here's a few examples:

    Farm subsidies
    Oil and Gas subsidies
    Corporate subsidies
Social Security (I'm sure none of your parents, or in the case of this blog with dumbasses like Chuck and Bandit, utilize SS benefits)
    Medicaid (see above)

Plus, the United States taxpayer has been funding Sweden's, Norway's, and Denmark's national defense the last 75 years.

Soviet Union, Cuba, Venzuela, and North Korea have all failed miserably with Socialism.

These socialist countries are hell holes for the average citizen who live a life of poverty and poor healthcare.

Over 30 million of these socialist country's citizens were murdered by their governments via starvation and torture.

Even China and Vietnam have abandoned Socialism for Capitalism as they witnessed the failure of the Soviet Union.

  20. In the same way that a Ponzi scheme or chain letter initially succeeds but eventually collapses, socialism may show early signs of success. But any accomplishments quickly fade as the fundamental deficiencies of central planning emerge. It is the initial illusion of success that gives government intervention its pernicious, seductive appeal. In the long run, socialism has always proven to be a formula for tyranny and misery.

"Socialism is a scareword they have hurled at every advance the people have made in the last 20 years.
Socialism is what they called public power.
Socialism is what they called social security.
Socialism is what they called farm price supports.
Socialism is what they called bank deposit insurance.
Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.
