TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY 'FREEDOM RALLY' PROTESTERS BURN WAGON IN WESTPORT!!!

Whilst other news outlets didn't offer Midtown Kansas City any warning, yesterday our blog community discussed the implications of the 4th of July "Freedom Rally" and the potential for trouble.

Accordingly . . .

LAST NIGHT KANSAS CITY PROTESTERS SET A MAKE-SHIFT WAGON ON FIRE IN THE MIDDLE OF WESPORT AS THE CLIMAX OF THEIR 4TH OF JULY MARCH!!!

Clarification . . .

There's a bit of confusion on social media regarding this bonfire spectacle.

THE BLAZE, THANKFULLY, DID NOT ENGULF THE ICONIC WESTPORT WAGON.

That thing is about 9 feet tall, it's bolted to the ground and weighs more than a ton.

Instead, here's a description of the civil disobedience performance art . . .

"A small wagon was placed in the middle of Westport Square. The crowd was invited to place red hand prints on the covering as a symbol of the slave trade. The wagon was then burned in front of Kelly's, which used to be used for slave auctions."

Other local news outlets are also reporting that the protesters burned an American flag.

A before shot of the wagon . . .

"The protesters called for action, including firing Kansas City Police Chief Rick Smith, defunding the police and reallocating money to social programs, as well as ending cash bail."

Other than the party district property destruction performance art, the march was otherwise peaceful as police were nearby but didn't interfere or confront the demonstration.

Can I go to Hyde Park and burn up the houses of thugs that are gang stalkers? If these rioters can burn up the city so can I and so can anyone else.
Note to the rioters; Some of those houses in Hyde park were built by Nichols, better get over there.

Because right after one makes their fake blood handprint, on the fake wagon, like some kindergarten fingerpainting project, well, how do you get all that red paint off your hands?

Wouldn't it have been more thoughtful for the organizers to provide that shiny fingerpaint paper as a keepsake and momento to be scotch taped to their fridge door?
(Since magnets no longer work...don't get me started on that. My family photos now live on the washer and dryer.)

And if the police had wanted to question the Karen protestors, for burning a flag, would the news media say the perpetrators were "CAUGHT RED HANDED?"

Did they maintain social distancing? Because those handprints were not six feet apart? Were there any violations? And what is the fine for that in KCMO?

At least in Joco, even tho our cowardly County Commission voted to observe Gov. Kelly's mask mandate, the cities' police departments are not enforcing it. No arrests, no fines.

that seems clinical and non-political to me.

masks are a minor inconvenience to trade for freedom. and masks won't be forever.

856, conservatism meant civic responsibility in the old days, which would mean voluntary mask-wearing today. imagine that it's a war and every citizen is asked to volunteer by wearing a mask. that would make masks patriotic.

my opinion is that anti-maskers are not classically conservative.

  35. The protesters are clearly unaware of the the critical history of Westport and covered wagons in abolishing slavery in the US. After the Louisiana purchase in 1802, a major struggle began between the southern states where slavery was common and the northern states where it was not permitted in keeping slavery out of the newly acquired lands. By 1820 Congress and the supreme Court adopted laws providing that as new states were formed and accepted into the Union, the new resident/citizens could decide by popular vote whether that State was free or slave and the largely anti-slavery states began a major push to settle the new states with abolitionists. The pro-slavery states, like Missouri, pushed back and sent private armies to the new sates, like Kansas ("Bloody Kansas"), to rig and control the abolition elections. Westport was the western-most port on the Missouri river reachable by steam ships, so it became the gateway to keeping the new states slave free. From Westport on west, the means of travel until 1860 when railroads arrived, was covered wagons pulled by mule trains that permitted the US Army to set up forts and fight the incursion of slavery along the Santa Fe, Denver, Oregon and Salt Lake City trails. The covered wagon in Westport should be enshrined, not burned.

@9:50 sure, and when those good Abolitionists called "Jayhawkers" raided farms in Missouri, they could sell off the livestock and household good they had stolen anywhere in Kansas Territory, but the slaves they had taken had to be sent to Atchison, Kansas to be auctioned off to speculators for resale in the South. For several years during the "Kansas Anti-Slavery War", Atchison was the second largest Slave Market in the Country, second only to New Orleans!

Wlliam Quantrill, during his Jawhawking days (look it up), wrote to his brothers back in Ohio several times, asking them to come West and join him, saying "this Jayhawking business is the most profitable thing I've ever seen"!

Time to defund public univesities as the "tenured" professors obviously are not working but rather organizing Marxist protests and hiding behind the students. They did the same thing at Mizzou - Columbia campus five years ago.

Re-engineer higher education to save students thousands of dollars in worthless classes that have nothing to do with their future careers.

Eliminate "tenure" and force professors to actually work 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year like the rest of us slobs. They may have a different outlook on life if they do.

Because it was sure looking like just another gambit in the Conservative ploy to overthrow the US Constitution, and Trump was once again "preaching to the Choir" by trying to label anyone opposed to him as a "Traitor" and divide this Country even more than he has for the past four years!

But that tactic brings up a question, for if that is to be the standard, wouldn't that make the entire Republican Party, and especially those Republican members of both Houses of Congress during the Obama years "Traitors"? They certainly did everything they could to bring the entire Government to a halt and prevent anything from being accomplished for those eight years!

"What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciations of tyrants, brass fronted impudence; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade, and solemnity, are, to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy — a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices, more shocking and bloody, than are the people of these United States, at this very hour."

Blieron, you might have slept through your history class, or perhaps you skipped it entirely committing acts of petty larceny and vandalism to get your high school diploma, but the U.S. fought a war to free the slaves from bondage. That was over 150 years ago. They were freed over 150 years ago. The war is over. We put it in our past. We moved on. The only thing keeping blacks from being successful today is their bad life choices. Nothing stands in their way. Hell, certain blacks are running KC and Jackson County despite their obvious lack of ability or integrity.

  80. The savages, outlaws, and criminals are busy and out in force. They are destroying everything of value in their wake, and they will not stop until the entire city looks like a black ghetto hell hole. Hey Black Live Splatters idiots - start with reducing the illegitimacy rate in the black community. Then, another brilliant idea...have your people study and finish high school instead of learning how to sell drugs. We are on to you con artists.

The Emancipation Proclamation, the 13th Amendment, and the 14th Amendment. Those freed the slaves more than 150 years ago.
Some people say that blacks have an advantage (blacks have a greater opportunity than whites) since Johnson passed that civil rights law in 1964.

  86. I challenge all of the daddy's and mommy's of the demonstrators to take the same action I took with my kids. I took back my credit cards from them and told them I'd give them $20 a week for gas in the car. They owe the car payment and insurance and I have to see that the payments are made on time or I'll sell the car, and I mean it. Same for their cell phone bills.
Daddy that is so unfair! was the screaming I heard for days. When the first car payment was due and it was not made on time they woke up the next day to the car being gone. The others fell into line very quickly and I do not get any push back from them since. So parents, grow a pair like I did and your life will be much happier.
