TKC MUST SEE!!! COUNCIL DUDE ERIC BUNCH BACKS AWAY FROM KANSAS CITY VOTE ON POLICE LOCAL CONTROL!!!

The November showdown at the ballot box will be anticlimactic for Kansas City. Progressive votes in the presidential election won't really count given that the sketchy electoral college decides the fate American Democracy and Prez Trump is likely to win Missouri even if the rest of the country decides to give him the boot. Even worse, a recent Black Lives Matter protest mandate to take "local control" of KCPD is now at risk thanks to a cleverly worded resolution offered by Councilman Eric Bunch.

Remember Mayor Quinton Lucas recently made a bold pronouncement of plans for a November vote on the issue of so-called "systemic change" for Kansas City police . . .

“We have heard the community’s demands for an accelerated effort to explore the issue of local control—and today we’re taking decisive action to provide our electorate an opportunity to weigh in on this issue,” said Mayor Lucas. “Decisions about the future of public safety in our community should be in the hands of our voters. I look forward to hearing from the people of Kansas City on the best path forward. This is one of many steps we’re taking to create a better and more accountable City government, improve community relations, and build the best police department for our community and our officers.”

The statement on city hall steps was nearly as daring as the Mayor lashing out against "fake—primarily non-black—allies" following destruction at KCPD HQ.

Speaking of . . .

We advise readers to look at a recent tweet from Council dude Eric Bunch CLOSELY because it's very clever and signals a classic instance of "Kansas City Nice" that could derail the activist push toward local control . . .

"Yesterday I introduced a resolution that would establish local control of PD as a legislative priority of the KCMO City Council. Holding a purely symbolic local election is costly and confusing."

Did you get the switcheroo??? It was subtle.

COUNCIL DUDE BUNCH CLEVERLY SELLS OUT ACTIVIST LOCAL CONTROL SUPPORTERS WITH HIS 'LEGISLATIVE PRIORITY' NON-BINDING PROMISE INSTEAD OF TRUSTING VOTERS!!!

Credit to a few TKC TIPSTERS who note that A VOTE TO KEEP LOCAL CONTROL WOULD DEVASTATE LOCAL BLM and social justice activists.

Still . . .

Credit where it's due . . . The passive-aggressive political gambit is so perfectly convoluted that it will confuse the uninitiated.

But here at TKC we are initiated against this kind of theatricality and deception.

A translation of this move from Councilman Bunch . . .

- He's against a vote on local control . . . He can give whatever reason that he likes but arguing against direct Democracy based on expense is weak.

- The talk of a city council "legislative priority" is the worst kind of vaporware promise any politico could offer. It's actually an insult to mention this to an adult with any experience watching politics in Kansas City.

- Council dude Bunch slowly backing away from Black Lives Matter whilst posing as one of their city hall supporters is SMART. Very few people really understand how politics at 12th & Oak works so his crafty equivocating has been nearly unnoticed.

Meanwhile, Kansas City violence continues a historic spike this Summer as politicos work diligently to carefully position themselves against rising public anger emanating from "many sides" of the electorate.

  1. I'll translate for you too TKC: He sold out his BLM buddies.

but I agree with you. Probably the right move for him.

    1. I think Bunch is even smarter than Tk is giving him credit for, what he's really doing is distancing himself from Quinton Lucas.

  2. The "activists" blew it by trashing the police station. That was a dumb move and they lost a lot of support by doing that.

  3. If you look at the definition of the word, "cuck." He's be it.

  4. After all the "promises" that the KCMO electeds make and then quickly forget about, it's amazing that any of these groups or individuals actually believe them.
How about the "we don't want to pay the rent" crowd?
Or all the "demands" that have been made about the police by one group or another?
Bunch is right that the proposed election is a sham and a huge waste of money.
But none of them are honest enough to tell the rioters that the state isn't going to approve a different form of local control for the KCPD and there's not going to be a successful state-wide vote on it either.
Pandering and misdirection at its best.
How are Bunch's multi-million dollar bike lanes coming?
    That's his only real priority.

  5. Eric Bunch is a lightweight. The poor guy just isn't very smart. Never an original idea and tries to placate anyone to be politically correct. Life was easier when he lived in the Bike/Walk KC cult and just hated cars and screwed up the streets. If he were smarter, he would learn from more seasoned politicians and create coalitions to do substative work that Kansas City needs. But he is his own little self important millinial who is clueless about leadership.

  6. Fake leadership. Does he think folks don't get it? Dances around issues to suck up to as many as possible. Condescending to those fighting the real fight and doing meaning work. His spandex is on too tight!

  7. Eric is a cunt, as everyone knows. He is good at looking out for himself, though. It was a typical cunt move by Eric, but a smart one.

  8. Let me guess... Bunchy pants is from Kansas. Moved to KC so he could be on City Council and dictate how real Kansas Citians should live; only later to go back to Kansas to live the good life. White people in this town are sooooo tired.

  9. The city can’t take over control of the department with a simple vote but the State will take notice if enough people vote for it.

With that said, It’s not going to be more money to put it in the November election.

  11. The police should be asking for the vote. Public sentiment up north, out south and along west side corridor has never been stronger. With the amount of money the union could raise local control vote would be crushed and never be heard of again. Let’s vote on this and support our city officers.

  12. BLM is a radical organization based on their beliefs below:

    - Want to defund police and get rid of all jails, detention centers, youth facilities and prisons

    - Want to end any arrests of black students

    - Want reparations for past and continuing harms to blacks

    - Want to destroy the traditional nuclear family structure

    - Want all blacks to receive a guaranteed minimum income

    - Want all blacks to receive free healthcare, schooling, food, real estate, gender reassignment surgery and abortions

    - Want to overturn U.S. capitalism

    - Want to change public schools into delivery points of multicultural studies and welfare programs

  13. If you can't vote on an issue or state your stance on something. you should not be in politics. Weird
