TKC DOUBLE TAKE: HERE'S WHY AN ARMED STL STANDOFF WITH PROTESTERS THREATENS TO SEND KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS BACK TO THE SUBURBS!!!

The aftermath of a confrontation betwixt protesters and homeowners in STL has resonated across the nation but the dust-up has very specific implications for Kansas City.

By now everyone has seen the standoff video and reaction has mostly been mockery, outrage and a somewhat informative debate the about legality of the encounter.

Last night, right-wing talker Tucker Carlson seems to articulate the conservative outrage over the incident in hopes that "ordinary citizens" would stand up to #BlackLivesMatter protests.

The partisan slap-fighting is great entertainment for the uninitiated but here at TKC we are initiated and realize that playing bongos in the street never changed anything and defending an urban castle with a high-powered rifle is no way to live.

Therefore . . .

INNER-CITY LEADERS SEEMINGLY ENDORSING VIOLENT PROTEST RISK WASTING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SPENT LURING WEALTHY RESIDENTS BACK TO THE URBAN CORE!!!

A few things to consider and support of our research . . .

- The march toward "local control" of Kansas City police is now up for a public vote as Mayor Lucas double-crossed police union supporters. The move was demanded by #BlackLivesMatter protesters and the mandate promises to have "transformative" consequences in terms of law enforcement.

- The Jackson County Prosecutor and KCMO Prosecutor have refused to press charges against protesters and have effectively thumbed their nose at local police.

-  Right now there's a full court press to replace the KCPD Chief that's backed by dead-tree media and urban political leaders.

All of these moves prove a simple axiom: Kansas City politicos are picking protesters over police and property owners.

And so . . .

Residents with enough cash to buy fancy homes, condos and luxury apartments are probably smart enough to realize that Kansas City and the entire nation lies in the midst of political upheaval. Urban centers serve as the apex of this disruption which hopes to transform longstanding institutions like the police and redistribute resources i.e. taxes with a renewed focus on creating systemic change via more funding to social workers and community-based resources.

These goals are often accomplished by way of tax increases; of which KC has a record of supporting.

Historically, people who hold wealth targeted by higher taxes tend to make bold and quick moves to protect their savings.

And so, this left vs. right, black vs. white distraction quickly advances into a real life discussion regarding the sordid topic of coin.

There has only been one fight since the beginning of time and it's haves vs. have nots.

Capable leadership might be able to convince wealthy Kansas City residents that this town will balance progress and social justice with more practical concerns about maintaining infrastructure and services for residents and businesses who have invested heavily in this cowtown.

Instead, City Hall quickly fell to its knees and met the demands of #BlackLivesMatter within less than two weeks.

Again, a decision to abandon a trendy urban center isn't racial or political -- It's simply a move to preserve capital. Look at KC's Eastside wherein upwardly mobile working, professional and middle-class African-American families abandoned urban homes and settled in places like Raytown, Grandview and Lee's Summit.

In the midst of the pandemic and civil unrest, the 2020 urban exodus is real and it's already underway.

If Kansas City hopes to preserve so much "momentum" built by hundreds of millions worth of taxpayer-subsidized development then the current discussion among "stakeholders" might also consider the devastating impact of urban flight sparked by riots, plague and a movement that has vowed to make American society more "equitable" by way of redirecting taxpayer resources.

Meanwhile, the smart money is already packing up and looking for suburban refuge.

  7. What this story fails to say is...BLM rioters broke into these people's POSTED property broke down their iron gate and proceeded to head for the house they have been restoring to try and better the endangered house and neighborhood to robb and destroy. The house is not tacky it is a home that can't be built today with the same quality. These people spent years working on this house and were not going to let some black thugs who are jealous tear it down and take what didn't belong to them. If I have the chance I will do the same thing. Welcome to the American race war started by BLM!

A mob who trashes an iron gate, trespasses onto private property and threatens homeowners are the good guys. Citizens who openly defend their home are the bad guys. When (not if) the mob and home/business owners start shooting each other, Soros's plan will have worked.

  12. During the last twenty years there was a concerted and effective effort to create an attractive urban living environment for young people and professionals in Kansas City. The self-pitying boy blunder has squandered all of that effort with his histrionics, overreactions, and back stabbings making the urban core, not only not desirable, but down-right frightening for people who are used to playing by the rules.

Are they preserving their personal capital? They don’t want to lose what they have worked for so in a way, yes. But mostly, they do not want to be at the mercy of people who obviously do not have their best interests at heart. Time to leave for better pastures as the field goes back to feral. Boy Blunder’s ambitions are national. Too bad he had to burn down the burg that elected him to climb up the burned timbers to higher office. But we already know that he is a sociopath and a narcissists so his conscience will not be very troubled by the people he has harmed.

You always vote to raise your taxes to take money from yourself so the city can use it to pay off political hacks and developers. You built that
You’ve allowed a prosecutor to continually not enforce the laws. You built that
You’ve driven the very people who could economically bring prosperity to your city, out of town. You built that
You join a protest that turns into rioting and looting
    You built that
you’ve sided with BLM and watched them burn you cities

The neighborhood has streets with limited access that are considered private property.
Since when is it peaceful to break down a gate to private property with an angry mob of 100.. And it's normal for one protester to brandish a gun?

Super Dave was right yesterday, you have to be ready to defend your property and that which is on it and not be afraid to do just that. Shoot these muterfuckers down where they stand. About time a real victim of crime and not a hood becomes a hero.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Let me get this straight: the protesters can carry concealed guns, but the couple cannot show guns openly on their own property. It says the protesters were no threat; how do you know? It takes one second for someone to pull a concealed gun out and use it. Everyone has a right to defend their own property and their own lives.

  22. The Bitter Truth6/30/20, 10:40 AM

So a photojournalist says it was just a good moment and people peacefully walking through an open gate onto private property. How did said gate get opened? Just because the gate is open it is still private property with no trespassing posted. Just because someone leaves their keys in the car does not give me or Anyone the right to steal it.I don’t fault these home owners at all. The most universal sound of you being in the wrong place at the wrong time is that of racking a shotgun placing a shell in the chamber. Everyone around knows exactly what you’re trying to say.

Protest all you want. But you don’t have the right to trespass. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  23. You can protest all you want, but only on public land, not on private property unless you have permission of the property owner. The BLM marchers were illegally trespassing on a private, not public, road. BLM protesters do not have the right to do that. I can see why the homeowner was terrified. We have all seen the rioting and looting that has gone on elsewhere, so I would gather that the homeowner was afraid f the crowd destroying and setting fire to his home. This is what BLM has done. Made people afraid of having property destroyed and burned.
"St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner said Monday that her prosecutors are reviewing the case. But she seemed to find fault with the couple for possibly escalating tensions".

But the St Louis Circuit attorney is not at all concerned that 100 or more people tore down a wrought iron gate and invaded private property that was clearly marked private no trespassing. These people are guilty of vandalism and trespassing and Kim Gardner should be demanding their arrest so she can prosecute them. Instead she is investigating people attempting to protect themselves and their property. She is a total failure.

Just the land, buildings, many homes, businesses he owns is enough to overwhelm anyone. This incident may be just the beginning of a coming wave. Armed insurrection could be coming, regardless of who’s elected president. “Racism” is just an excuse for coming civil revolt. If a Republican wins, Communist revolutionaries will claim election was rigged. If a Democrat wins, they’ll see is as tacit approval to “redistribute wealth” by force. Suggestion to those who’ve worked hard to accumulate wealth, as I have: Arm yourselves. Come January, a Communist wave may be coming.

It’s only a matter of time before people start unloading massive amounts of bullets on these vandals. It’s one thing to exercise your right to protest but what we’ve been seeing is not protesting. Looting, rioting, destroying and entering private property, graffiti, showing concealed weapons it’s going past the breaking point. I foresee in the near future the victims of rioters uhhh I mean protestors won’t tolerate the lawlessness anymore. Hey protestors we get it. A black thief who was being arrested was unjustly killed. Justice would be arresting and charging the officer. The protestors have broke so many laws it makes the original choking of Floyd look minor. Arson, murder, looting and rioting is not justice. That’s criminal behavior. So glad I moved from the city a decade ago. It’s not the areas that are bad it’s the people within. Look at all the people that have been protested for. What do they all have in common? Black skin and were all committing a crime that brought police there in the first place. Rice was pointing a weapon and refused to drop it. Brooks was drunk driving, resisted, attacked officers, stole a weapon and discharged it at the police. Michael brown the thug who just robbed and manhandled a store owner before attacking a cop for simply telling him to follow the law and walk on the sidewalk. Floyd was trying to pass counterfeit money. The problem isn’t police it’s the criminals that bring the police to them. I guarantee none of the people would have been killed if they were not the ones who were breaking the law of the land in the first place.

People breaking a gate and trespassing are NOT protesters. How dishonest can the media be?

    ReplyDelete
  33. In all 50 states, you cannot legally protect any property from damage or theft with deadly force (guns). Even if its a $30,000,000. rembrandt painting.

You can only use guns if you are in immediate threat with of great bodily harm.

You cannot shoot a trespasser in any of the 50 states unless you are about to be physically harmed yourself.

Pointing a gun at anyone is assault or battery with a deadly weapon.

These people will face charges, and the fact they are both attorneys will not do well for them. They could lose their law license.

Had they stood there with the guns holstered, or slung over their chest, no crime would have been committed by them.

In this case, the homeowners could reasonably be expected to fear great bodily harm or loss of life because of the breaking down the gate, charging toward private property and other actions of the crowd.

    ReplyDelete

    Castle doctrine

Anders Walker, a constitutional law professor at St. Louis University, said Monday that it was “very dangerous” for the McCloskeys to engage with protesters by brandishing guns, but Missouri’s Castle Doctrine allows them to defend their property on Portland Place, a private street.

“At any point that you enter the property, they can then, in Missouri, use deadly force to get you off the lawn,” Walker said, calling the state’s Castle Doctrine a “force field” that “indemnifies you, and you can even pull the trigger in Missouri.”

Luckily, Walker said, no one got shot.

“There’s no right to protest on those streets,” Walker said. “The protesters thought they had a right to protest, but as a technical matter, they were not allowed to be there. … It’s essentially a private estate. If anyone was violating the law, it was the protesters. In fact, if (the McCloskeys) have photos of the protesters, they could go after them for trespassing.”

Can't imagine sitting in my home and watching a mob tear down a gate and yell profanities and threats at me while brandishing weapons. I've seen enough mobs in the past month turn into looters/rioters destroying property in a matter of seconds. It starts with a rock being thrown, a broken window, and then the opportunistic parts of the mob turns violent and dangerous quickly. Very quickly. Would it have happened here? We don't know. We do know that the better parts of this mob kept the mob moving and avoided a bad situation when they saw these homeowners were armed.

That being said, they looked like idiots waiving their guns around and they are lucky no one got hurt if they'd tripped, fallen, or run into something while their finger was on a trigger.

You cant shoot them from a distance. They are unarmed. But if they were armed, or charging you, and almost on top of you, and yelling "we are take your guns and kill you" - then shoot away. You have no duty to retreat. But the legal bills and the press will hound you forever. Easier to go in, let the pitbulls or dobermans out, and lock the doors. Homes are called "castles" as you should wisely retreat inside them. Someone 2 blocks away could shoot your direction and if your in the yard, get a lucky hit on you and kill you. Stay in the house. As they stood in front, people could have gone around to the back door. Remember how Scarface ended.

If the guy wasnt a burglar, but say the resident's son trying to get into the house after his older parents locked themselves out, to save a locksmith charge - you going to prison for life baby! And all your neighbors will hate your family too. Buy insurance. Get a new TV or whatever if someone takes the old one.

  81. Now we know what kind of guns that family owns. Somebody gonna steal those

  82. ^^ You should be the first to try.

  83. If that crowd rushed those two people and say they shot 25 people dead in the fray, then more protesters would have charged and mobbed them after they ran out of bullets and killed the couple. For what? Its a house under renovation. They dont even live there. Its empty. It must be insured. This could have turned out very bad. As the whole St louis area would have then gone up in flames over the massacre. White folks from St louis would flee to Little Rock or Kansas City. The National Guard would be called in. More deaths. All stores in St Louis looted. Huge headquarters of companies YOU MIGHT USE would be burned. Then repeat this in other cities. These attorneys are complete idiots and should have their guns taken away for life. The lady looks like a fat sow. That guy needs to dump her fat ass.

  84. ^^ Blame those who are protecting their property. We need to blame those who instigate the violence and aggression first. You need to go back to under a rock.

  85. That lady pointed her gun by accident at that guys head numerous times. They are their own worse threat in this incident

  87. There is one video that shows in fact a close to out of control mob threatening them did march into their neighborhood. The media edited that out of course.

  88. The liberal media isn't showing anything that shows the mob mentality and aggression. They are all in on trying to get Biden elected in November. They are a disgusting branch of the Democratic National Committee.

  90. Why can't protesters follow laws against trespassing, looting, stealing, assaulting and killing? It amazes me that they think it's fine to break laws. Protesting is fine, but breaking the law isn't. If you want to break the law, be prepared for the consequences.

  91. They were marching to the St Louis mayors office. Odd that the mayor lives on a private street with gates that lock. In KC they live in average homes on public streets, even Mayor Berkley lived on a busy road.

Imagine that women with the gun naked.......!

  92. No Byron trying to tell idiots like you the truth and facts is what is like talking to children.

All of those protesters had no right to be on that property they were breaking the law. But you break the law so often I can see why you support criminals and thugs.

Most people on this blog today haven’t heard the best part of the recording of the homeowners protections their property, the protesters threatened them multiple times and plus the fact they were supporters of the blm movement. The man is a civil rights lawyer. You won’t hear that truth from the fake news Chinese run media now will you? Typical despicable dimwit lies and half truths, you people really need to get your news from real news outlets.

  103. ST. LOUIS — A small group of people pulled an AK-47 rifle out while cursing and yelling at a 5 On Your Side reporter and photographer who were trying to report live from the scene of a protest outside St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson’s house Sunday.

  104. Reverend Gray said he told people to continue to “move on” on the megaphone.

“At no time did I observe any of our people with weapons,” Gray said. He added that he did not observe anyone step foot on the couple’s property.

Around 9:30 p.m., Gray said there were protesters who were armed but they joined the protest at Union and Delmar, The Mayors Residence which is not where this incident took place.
