TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY P&L DISTRICT STAYS LOSING MILLIONS!!!

We talked about this WEEKS AGO and now hard times for the downtown entertainment district are news fact . . . Checkit:

KC Live! Reopening Soon; P&L District Pandemic Losses Total 'Tens of Millions'

The Kansas City Live! block is returning to life next week after being dormant since mid-March, but with a more low-key vibe compared to the raucous times of the Chiefs' Super Bowl run earlier this year.

  1. Shut it down! Let the suburbanites party in their own City. This is great news!

  2. Wait. It already lost LOTS of money!

  3. Why go there? With less people to choose from, your more of a target for crime.

  4. It is almost like the boy mayor is murdering the downtown revival with his own hands. Way to go! Few people go through life getting the opportunity to bring down an entire city with his incompetence.

  5. Downtown is like being in a shooting gallery. If you go to Prairie Village or Overland Park your odds of being show are reduced by 98%. Live accordingly.

  6. Most of downtowns decline is DST Systems' fault. They sold themselves so executives could get rich, on stock soptions, and they cared little for the downtown impact. They screwed all of Kansas City over. But those old elderly bald and blind Rockhurst asses will be dead in their graves in less than 20 years. Thats the good thing.

  7. Power and light hasn't been profitable since 2007 when it opened. Never will be. Should have left all the old buildings standing. Fuck Cordish Company, bullshit artificial chain restaurants.

  8. Remember when Kay Waldo and then funkhouser tried to ruin the crossroads so the p&l could survive? The crossroads has survived everything thrown at them including the cities attempts to put them out of business, look who has survived all these years without any support from city hall, the crossroads, they’ll be around long after the billion dollar fiasco p&l fails.

The p&l district is starting to remind me of another failed multi million dollar failure.... the jazz district. Both of these venues have city involvement financially with millions of taxpayer dollars and yet they can’t survive. Makes you wonder where all that money is going too.

  9. Maybe no dress code and ammo vending machines would help ?

  10. The DST executives overpaid them selves for 4 decades. Then bolted and sold the company cheap to a out of town competitor. There is no syenergy except for the cashing of DST stock options. The DST executives should go down in KC history as people that threw us all under the bus and damaged downtown Kansas City Missouri. Thankfully they are older and will be gone in a few short years. Now they hang out at the dog gym and spend their time with dogs, as they could never get along with normal people. They are antisocial freeks

  11. If downtown fails, where will all the faggots go? Almost everyone who lives downtown is a flaming effeminate homosexual.

Hit the nail on the head. Not exactly sure when it happened but for at least a couple decades now, our city officials have been convinced and/or convinced themselves that no private development can be built in this town without 10s of millions of tax payer dollars either straight being given or diverted into those developments with very few exception. That "new normal" is severely fucking this town into the ground. If people can only imagine how much better this town would be financially if the 100s of millions of dollars that have been given to private developers were instead spent on infrastructure, schools, police officers and fire fighters? Maybe, JUST MAYBE, the city would be a much more appealing place as maybe it'd be safer, cleaner with better infrastructure and lower taxes. Perhaps that's a better way to grow a city than what has taken place over the last 2-3 decades. But, as it stands right now, we have shitty schools, poor infrastructure, a shrinking police force and one of the nation's highest murder rates. Makes you wonder....
