TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY POLLING PLACE CUTBACK THREATENED AHEAD OF UPCOMING JUNE 2ND ELECTION!!!
Democracy in Kansas City has already been delayed and now it could be scaled back in order to satisfy public health concerns.
To wit . . .
INSIDERS FEAR DRASTIC CUTS IN KCMO POLLING PLACES THAT'LL MAKE PANDEMIC VOTING EVEN MORE TREACHEROUS!!!
Here's a hint at the behind the scenes conversation . . .
"They want to move away from the current precinct voting and switch to a 'Ward' location setup. Reducing the overall locations to maybe 25, tops. It's a bad move that doesn't help anyone but the special interests . . ."
There's a conflict between poll workers and voters: The current number of polling places could increase the risk to workers by requiring more people to administer the locations. However, fewer polling places would put voters at greater risk with larger crowds to endure in order to cast a ballot.
Let's also not forget that Jackson County Democrats started attacking their election board for an early refusal to allow COVID-19 as reason for an absentee ballot.
There's even more conflict behind the scenes for this surprisingly contentious vote but for now the low turnout contest has sparked outrage among planners attempting to decipher how to protect the election and its participants.
